I live north of New Orleans. I have an employee in Pensacola.

I had my fingers crossed that it had been a quiet season so far.

The thing about these storms are that you never know where they are going, how strong they will be or how they will affect the weather in the surrounding areas.

Many schools have started this week or start next week. Looks like there will be some evacuations.

TELL ME ABOUT IT!! I've lived in Florida for 1 day and now we will be hit with a Hurricane!!! Just my luck!!! We are in Bradenton and a Hurricane hasn't directly hit this area in 40 years.... so it may pass north of us. I had to go with my dad to buy some plywood for a window in the back of his house... Home Depot was nuts with people buying wood and bottled water. We are heading to Sam's Club later to buy our water, batteries etc.

    Stock up my friend.
We probably have enough batteries to sponsor a porno movie full of vibrators.
See if you can get flood insurance.
A generator is not a bad investment either.

It doesn't snow very often but we have our own little issues to deal with down south.

Been there, done that. I live in Virginia Beach and we have a couple of hurricanes every year. We have a generator because we always lose power for a few days. Take everything inside and have plenty of water and canned food. Get batteries and candles. Make sure to put everything that can blow away in the garage or tie it down. The rain usually caused more prolems than the wind. Good luck, you're in for an experience you may have never experienced. Hopefully, it'll miss you.

I'm thinking about going and buying a generator. I have always thought about one for tailgating and now I have a real reason to buy one :). I told my wife to make sure the video camera is charged. I want a record of our first hurricane/tropical storm. We have a couple inverters to run the fridge if he have to.

We already started to do that. They have a lanai with a pool and a lot of plants and I think my mom has already started bring some of them in. My buckeye trees will be the first thing to come in tomorrow. :)

I've been in a tornado and a flood (6ft of water in a basement). This will be my second hurricane but the first was when I was 10 in Myrtle Beach so I don't remeber much.

Living in Tampa, I'm right in the line of fire for Tropical Storm Charlie - it's supposed to get here on Friday. Never fear - I'm all stocked up on liquor in case the beer gets warm when the power goes out...

Now you won't need batteries for the vibrator. Then again, your neighbors will always know when it's "being used". :yow1:

    Nice one.

Honestly I do not believe that this hurricane will do too much damage, it probably will drop a lot of rain and knock down a few telephone poles. Hype is the great storm created by the media, most of the time it is bigger than the actual storm that they are tracking.

My wife can be a "freak" at times but she's not that bad :)

things are nuts here. I just went to get gas in my truck and almost had to break up a fight because a hillbilly was yelling at some older guy about the way he was lining up for gas. The lines were out to the street... some people are just complete idiots. The funny thing was is that I started to talk to the older guy afterwards and turns out he is an OSU fan... he noticed my personalized plates so we started talking to pass the time while we were waiting.

Hell we had to cancel practice for a film/skull session because of the torrential rain...our Jamboree scrimmage is already cancelled for tomorrow night:pissed:

We did scrimmage Summerville tuesday night...Coach McKissick has been at that school for 50 years and has over 500 career wins. Nice guy to put down as a reference
