High Lonesome: "It was hardly meaningless as it forced the longhorns to the holiday bowl as Kstate was allowed to go to the Fiesta bowl."

I mean meaningless in the sense of the National Title game. Obviously, each & every game has meaning to the fans of a particular team. That's what makes CFB great.

The geographics of the Big 12 ruin the potential of their own playoff system. I don't see a team in the North, except Nebraska, that has the tradition of Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma. K-State is about as good as their current Coach and then it's back to the pits. Colorado is an up and down team as is Mizzou. None of these seem to me to be a long term threat to the Big 3 down south. the SEC is similarly out of balance with Georgia, Tennessee and Florida on one side. (Bless you Buckeye Bill. We'll keep this (mis) post our secret.)
