    At this point I have to consider Whitner up there. He is emerging as a total stud, a faster Mike Doss.

    Offensive MVP: Holmes, though keep an eye on Ross late in the season.

    Offensive MVP: Nugent. His kicking abilities will take pressure off Zwick and off Tressel as a playcaller. He may be the only kicker in the country that has this kind of positive effect on his team's offense.

    Defensive MVP: Hawk, but D'Andrea is making an equally strong case to this point.
