If Millwood, Juan Gon, Boone, and Wickman can stay healthy the Tribe could be good this year. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed, but they wouldn't have to get too much better to win the AL Central.

If... some how... all four of those guys stay healthy... they'll win the Central going away.

The interesting deal is Gonzalez... I was underwhelmed at first, but they say he's healthy...

I like the signing though... 100K minimum... 2.5 mill max... that's quite a scale... max is 25x the min.

Anyway... If the guy can stay healthy half the season... it might be enough to helpt eh Tribe win the Central. Not only will you then HAVE to pitch to Martinez and Hafner... but if you can get Sizemore 300 AB's in the Minors and Peralta 300 AB's in the bigs... where they aren't needed to contribute... when you're talking about 22 year olds... that's real experience..

Also... I guess Boone isn't all the way back healthy, though he's supposed to be... You still could leave Blake at 3rd, and Crisp in Left, Sizmore in Center and Igor in Right.

Rhodes was horrible last year in a pitchers park on Oakland. Maybe that's because they first tried him as a closer. If he's a middle reliever, he should be fine. The big question mark will still be the 'pen. With Omar gone, their D will be a question with Peralta taking over at short.

I'm an A's fan, but I think if the bp can improve, it's not too far fetched to see them compete for the Central.

It can't get much worse.

If Johan Santana kicks ass again, the Tribe can forget about winning the Central.

Its Mike Cuddyer and Joe Mauer who are going to have to kick ass... Losind Koskie and Guzman are going to hurt... as much as I think Guzman was a bit overrated... he and that turf together were quite a weapon.

I like some of these moves.

However, this team is going to live and die by pitching. The offense is probably going to be there, but the pitching is what will determine if the Tribe makes a Central run.

Cliff Lee needs to put it together for the entire year. He threw more innings than he ever did last season, and he had a pretty bad stretch as a result. CC needs to lose some weight and devote himself to being the #1 guy in the rotation. Who knows if Westbrook can duplicate the great year he had. Adding Milwood helps since Stanford is going to be out for most of the year. That pretty much leaves a host of guys to battle for the 5th starter spot, and a few guys that can make spot starts to give some additional rest.
