I never miss hunting the rut season in November.

We (my dad dad, brother, and cousin) all go down to So. Ohio and spend about 10 days in the woods each season.

Saturday morning I bagged a 9 point buck - the biggest I've ever shot - big body and nice rack.

My brother was in a tree about 50 yards away and watched me shoot it (which normally doesn't happend during bow season).

I'll try to post a picture tomorrow evening.

Congrats!

Any deer is a trophy but one with a bow is even more so.

Backstraps on the grill?

I am in South Georgia calling on some customers and deer hunting is big here.

I'll be in Ohio for gun season after Thanksgiving.

Congrats on the buck.

No bowhunting for me, but I'll be out after Thanksgiving for gun season. Had a nice 8 point last year. I've been told that there is a 12 point running around on the farm we hunt, hopefully somebody gets him this year.

Congrats!

I'll be out this weekend in Jackson County. I saw a 6 pointer there last weekend. Wish I could be out this week but work has been hectic. Does it seem like the deer are chasing the does? Have you released any estrus scent yet? Man I am dying to go. I switched to a whisker-biscuit rest 2 weeks ago and it's sighted to 40 yards.

Thanks for sharing!

My favorite dish is boneless chops in a crockpot.

I'll be out for gun season too - 3 deer limit in region 3 in SE Ohio this year - so I've got 2 more to go.

The buck I shot was definitely in rut - I saw two does pass by at 8:50 - then my buck came strolling through at 9:10.

I put out Golden Estreus from 'Wildlife Research Center' - he walked right up to it under my tree.

It was a pretty easy shot - he was right underneath me.

Are you guys talking about hunting here? I am glad to hear that you have finally converted to whisker biscuit, because "Pole", and hunting are not really compatible.:)
