I Think I Am Going To Puke....

When I first moved to Colorado, I remember asking people 'when will kids trick or treat?' and I would get the most rediculous looks with the response: 'on Halloween, dumbshit'. Hehe - I thought I remembered correctly that in Ohio, we wouldn't necessarily go door to door on Halloween night, at least not every year.

Ours was always on a Sunday afternoon back home in OH. The neighboring town was always Halloween in the evening. Here in Michigan it usually is on Halloween, but it has changed depending what day of the week it falls on.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has encountered this. I now live in Philadelphia and asked my girlfriend what night they would be trick-or-treating, and she looks at me and says "when the fuck do you think they do it?"

the use of language there...especially the fbomb...is phenomenal....

the fbomb is officially a verb in that city....

Well, fortunately I do live out in the suburbs well away from downtown. But it was still a big culture shock coming out here from Ohio. My gf isn't ghetto in the least, she was just messing around with me. But yes, the fbomb is very prevalent

Hey DiHard.. just out of curiousity what candy was it? then next question, what's your top three candies? let's see if we have a correlation.. and whether you just threw gas all over that temptation fire...

same three would be dangerous in this household as well... we have a family rule after Trick-or-Treat... anything they want within reason night of.. pretty lenient day after.. watch the input next day.. then it goes to the homeless shelter day after that... altho my youngest hasn't quite got the knack for hiding the evidence on the stash he bags... he has no stopping point on Reeses.. he'd do 10 a day... and he's a stick.. but soft teeth...

a highlight of the night is the trading session... Dad gets the Mounds and Almond Joys.. Mom gets Baby Ruths and some Pay Days.. we make a treat box to send to the oldest here in Ohio.. and we tell stories about the brands the kids have no idea about... Blackjack gum...Pop Rocks.. but this area is pretty 'global'.. they get Chinese suckers, tea, stuff that starts the "you eat it, I'm not eatin' that'.. give it to Mikey.. he'll eat anything (there is no Mikey but the line gets used every year)...

all the houses overbuy... our houses are too far apart.. and kids give up.. so the last hour, the houses are like "take a handfull... take four..." so we get a truckload... what's your address, we get about 500 kit kats and Reese's peanut butter cups... and you'll be done puking by the time they arrive
