    • It has been suggested that we have a thread to discuss this topic

    the Planet has about 15,000 accounts
    the contributions to date are $5315; the meager objective is $8022

    we have Spring Drives... and we've had Fall Drives but in reality, we have an evergreen quest for contributions

    we all understand folks go thru tough financial times... that's a given...
    we can also agree that the hard core approaches by me are not rcvd well.. but as Jwins said so well in another post.. we've tried every approach and those didn't fare well either

    so I pose this thread for ideas

    Part of the problem back then is that we were doing it in 2004-05 by very old-fashioned methods - we had to order a certain quantity just to get them printed, then we had boxes of them in somebody's garage that we couldn't get rid of.

    These days we could set up a shop on Spreadshirt or something of that ilk and that would take care of many of the headaches that we experienced before that have kept us from going back to that idea. We could have a wide variety of designs and styles, and the printing, ordering and shipping are taken care of. We could link to our store from BP and get a commission on sales.

    Also, I would really love to have some BP beer coozies.

    Cursory glance at Spreadshirt shows all kinds of products besides t-shirts... but no coozies. That might be something we could do on the side without too much trouble - or maybe some other place similar to Spreadshirt does them.

    At least with coozies you don't have to worry too much about sizes or styles.

    We could also maybe tie things in with donations - PBS-style. Sign up for a year of monthly donations? Get a shirt? Make a one-time $10 donation? Get a pair of coozies?

    Just brainstorming here.

    We had something all set up with Fuss-Cheatham's company for a line of BP tees, then it all fell apart. Vincent is talking to a few other possible partners. We have a design in mind, just need to find someone to make it with us. Tees are definitely on the radar.

    That would be awesome. I literally wore out the two I bought back in 2005.
