IL LB Clifton Garrett (LSU Signee; Transfer to ???)

Don't take this wrong way...at all. From all reports, this is a great kid. I 100% believe that. Save me the SEC garbage...

What you are witnessing is a product of the overkill combines, 7v7s, etc.

A kid who had an idea....now has no idea. Recruiting has become a business...unfortunately this is now looking like AAU basketball with so many 'mentors'.

Good luck Clifton. Hopefully we see you as a Buckeye, but if not, best of luck in your career.

Five-star LSU linebacker Clifton Garrett to transfer

LSU is losing a key member of its 2014 recruiting class, as 247Sports.com initially reported, and LSU later confirmed, that linebacker Clifton Garrett was leaving the program.

Garrett was a five-star member of LSU's 2014 class, and the original report states that Garrett will not be transferring to another FBS school, but will instead transfer to an as yet undetermined junior college.

He's already left LSU and does not plan on returning.

Garrett was the No. 2 outside linebacker in the 2014 class according to 247Sports' composite rankings, and the top player in Illinois was the No. 28 player overall.

Garrett did not appear in any games for the Tigers last season.

The talk on the LSU forums is that he likes drinking and hanging out more than he likes class and football.

No way.. not like in my day.. it was all classroom and library .. haaaaaaaaaa

if only someone hadn't told him he was the 2nd best LB in all of that class
AND we're talkin LSU.. not Stanford... LSU !?!?!?!?! he shoulda gone to NC

There were some rumblings on the internet about potential shady SEC recruiting tactics with his recruitment. We went from the favorite to not in his top 5 in like a month's time early-on.

To be fair though, we had some other really big fish that we were trying to land... and we pretty much landed all of them (McMillian, Berger, Booker, & Hubbard). I think his recruitment had much more to do with other great options for OSU and I think his heart was more in the south (at that time).
