Illinois always plays us tough at their place, but I think we take care of business easily on our new home turf...

Here's an interesting stat from that cfn preview.

It's tough to lose 10 games with that differential in ypc. Turnovers killed them.

Yep. They were tied with North Texas for 117th in turnover margin (-1.25 per game)...only Army with a -1.50 per game turnover margin was worse.

Conversely, we were tied for 13th with a +.69 per game turnover margin (tied with Texas, Texas A&M, and San Jose State).

The way things are shaping up this may turn out to be one hell of a crucial game for both teams.

Illinois Fighting Illini coach Ron Zook might have made his job more difficult with last week's loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes.
With his offense struggling under quarterback Isaiah ''Juice'' Williams, he turned to redshirt freshman Eddie McGhee. McGhee got into the game and eventually threw an 80-yard touchdown pass that would have won the game had it not been called back because of a penalty. That moment alone is enough to make tongues wag in Champaign, Ill.

That they did...but depending on the outcome of this weekend it could still be the game of the year in the big 10...

Even if Illinois beats Michigan, if we indeed beat Illinois and face a Michigan team that has only that Illinois loss in the conference, it'll still be the game of the year in the conference (in addition to it simply being The Game).
