STATE COLLEGE, Pa. ? Each remaining game for Ohio State is critical for its Big Ten and national title hopes, but fans probably will have to hop to their nearest sports pub to see the team face Illinois on Nov. 10.
Steve Snapp, OSU's associate athletic director for broadcast services, said he's "99.9 percent sure" the clash with the Illini will be shown on the Big Ten Network, which isn't available to basic-cable subscribers in the Miami Valley.

Illinois gave Ohio State its biggest scare of the 2006 regular season, but the Buckeyes pulled out a 17-10 win on the road. Next Saturday, Illinois comes to Columbus for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff at Ohio Stadium.
The Illini have been relying on Rashard Mendenhall, who entered the weekend as the Big Ten's second-leading rusher, averaging 123 yards per game. But they'll have to get more from their passing game to move the ball against Ohio State. Last in the conference in passing before Saturday night's visit to Minnesota, with just seven passing touchdowns in nine games, Illinois quarterback Juice Williams came out and threw two first-quarter touchdowns against the Gophers.
Do that, and the Illini - with a decent defense led by one of the conference's leading tacklers in linebacker J Leman - have a shot. If it's just Mendenhall, they're in...

After 8 years of working every saturday I am done with that. To celebrate , ahem, I am giving myself a present of going to this game and hopefully to the Scum game. At any rate hope to see some of the people I met at the POker T.

I am generally overly conservative with score predictions, but I am going 45-17 here, with 7 by them on the last drive of the game.

I am having a horrible time, as evidenced by my dismissal of Illinois above, of not looking forward to Michigan and BCS standings. Focus, focus, focus. . .

Just like everyone else we have played or will play in the regular season, its a blackjack game. Score 21+ and we win. Their D is giving up 19 ppg in B10 play, we'll be fine.

Its Sr day at the Shoe, no let down worries here. We had our little flat spell after PSU this week.

The change of gears back to a spread option team sucks but our D is built more to stop that kind of thing. No one is going to make a living being a one dimensional offense who's success depends on being faster than our defense.

I said a few weeks ago, when the Illini were a hot team in the media, that I felt we'd blow them out. They can't pass worth shit. Shut down the run and you shut down their offense. On the other side, I don't see them slowing down Beanie. Their only hope is if he aggravates his ankle.

after watching illinois against iowa and michigan...this team is very young..they make stupid penalties and mistakes....juice williams still is a poor passer and their dline is undersized..their corners are small and this could be a disaster for illinois...bucks will win big

My theory is that they did not help their chances against the Bucks by playing Minny. Juice thinks he's John Elway now. Wait till the Buckeyes (1) shut down the run and (2) add to the sack totals.

Buckeyes, 41-13; 7 sacks, 3 interceptions.

Great Senior Day --- and also Juniors-Heading-For-The-NFL Day!

Just win, baby!

All I know going into the Purdue game.....thier offense had gotton yards and was scoring til they played us............same for Mich. St.........going into the Penn St game it was thier defense and their hostile environment , and we silenced that white out histeria in one quarter..............Wis. we knew it was going to be physical , our defense and run game overpowered..........now comes Illinois with another spread type offense, which seems that only one team in the Big Ten who doesn't know how to defend that type of offense( that team up north). I think Tressel will gameplan accordingly, and take what they give us, and then we just wear them down. If they man up on Robie and Hartline right off the start than we shoot deep, Beanie will get his yards, whether they load the box up or not. Beanies vision seems to be getting better as the weeks go on.........................my score Bucks 35---Illinois 10:osu:
