Well, I just returned tonight after spending the past four days at the South Carolina Coach's Association Summer Clinic. I listened to Ron Zook speak about Florida Gator football...the whole time I was listening to this guy, I was giving thanks for having JT at the helm at tOSU. Zook disagreed with recent proposals to limit the "wine & dine" recruiting process among other issues. He just seemed like a used car salesman to me...had a spin for every issue. Even though I was a biased listener, he just seemed very slippery to me. When the floor was opened for questions, I almost asked about the Crowder and WW issues, but decided to keep my mouth shut.

I'm off to "Hell Camp" (18 practices in 5 days) friday morning so prayers are appreciated

It was interesting to hear Coach Pough from South Carolina State bring up the point of leveling the recruiting for schools with smaller budgets...the look of disgust on Zook's face was priceless. Hell, if Florida is worried about outrecruiting SCSU, that program is in trouble

  4. You shouldn't have held back Grad? Let it fly....what's the worst that could have happened? Maybe Zook giving you a red slippery look and asking "Who the f*ck are you, some Tressel transplant?" Then you could have said yes! Now that's priceless!!

Good luck with camp and be mindful of the heat....

What were they suspended for? The man told his players what game they were suspended for, and stuck to it. No big deal, as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, a message like that will stay with his players forever. It won't help them get anywhere, just stay with them and cause them trouble. :shake:

    wow....thats ridiculous and a half.

edit: isnt the point of a punishment to be for the current game? if holmes got into a bar fight before iowa....i wouldnt expect him to be punished for the michigan state game.

Agreed. People are reading way too much into this. If he decided to change the suspensions to the Tennessee game instead, would your reactions be the same? Either way, they miss a game aganst weak non conference opponent.

The point is that Zook wants his guys ready for the Tennessee game. Why suspend them for the MTSU game on October 16? You don't randomly suspend players for games in the middle of the season schedule. He felt comfortable with the players missing the MTSU when that game was the first game on the schedule. Now that the players might miss a game that's right before the Tennessee game, well , that might affect their play in the Tennessee game, and Zook can't afford that.

These two players were in a fight at a party and Crowder threw a half full keg at another student while the student was on the ground. The keg missed the student. What would have happened to that student had the keg hit him? Anyone who has ever tried to lift a half full keg knows the answer to that one. The injuries could have been severe.

EDIT Taurean Charles was the one who threw the keg of beer at the kid. My bad. Sorry Gator fans :!

Its not that big of a deal, but it depends on how you look at it....

    1. They were supposed to be suspended a game.

    2. The coach picked a game before the big game, wrong or right?

Tress could never get away with that here....
