A poster named buglebob at the illini scout forums has taken Thakid's bait, hook, line and sinker. I picture Thakid sitting at his keyboard holding in the belly laugh.

You better be as broke as you are over confident in all of your predictions. Or - you will have many on this board taking you up on your offer to "bet" and then taking your money.

We will probably get no 5 star prospects and maybe - hopefully - be lucky to get 4 or 5 4 star prospects. I will be very pleased if that happens for us.

Where are the hand picked recruits you speak of ? I don't see any on our commits list. I like to wait until we have a commit before I count him. Seems like the intelligent way to operate.

Remember when Tony Dungy went to Tampa Bay in 1996 and quickly turned the 'Yucs' into the Bucs, before Gruden sealed the deal with a Vince Lombardi trophy? Nickerson was a solid NFL veteran on those Dungy teams, and -- in fairness -- did go to a bunch of Pro Bowls in the late 90s with Dungy, Lovie Smith (his position coach), and Monte Kiffin calling the defense. However, even in his prime, Nickerson wasn't even the best LB on his own team (Derrick Brooks), or a player that would generate tabloid publicity (Warren Sapp).

Nickerson was an excellent player, but when people recall all time NFL greats from the 1990s, they'll remember guys like Junior Seau and Derrick Thomas.
