i heard somewhere over the weekend that slick rick neuheisel was in gainesville last week.....

They'd be crazy to go after Neuheisel. That guy has left NCAA sanctions in his wake at every school he's been at.

I don't know why any college would want that guy.

Tedford from Cal is another name I heard, not sure I like that idea either, but it would make more sense than Meyer imo.

Neuheisel is a no. When you are Florida you don't take another chance on a coach.

Meyer I wouldn't hire because he has only done it at utah for 2-3years right?

Spurrier would be a sure thing to please fans, but would need to bring someone in as a understudy to take over the program when he is done in 4-5 years.

Who would I go after?

Joe Tiller maybe?

Tommy Tuberville who has got to still be bitter at Auburn people for what they did last year?

Norm Chow?

Louisville Coach Bobby Petrino?

Jeff Bower? (Southern Miss)

Pat Hill? (Fresno State)

Dan Hawkins (Boise State)

NFL guys I would think Florida would stay away from after Zook, so these would be good Canidates.

Norm Chow
Stever Spurier
Tommy Tuberville

Those names should be at the top.

why fire him now and let him play out the season... doesn't that pretty much sacrifice the rest of the season, since he has little to play for and the players will likely quit on him, since he won't be their coach?

I can't remember this happening before, has it? When was the last time?

C'MON, folks!

Neuheisel is the PERFECT choice for a head coaching position in the Surely Everyone Cheats Conf.

With his cavalier disregard for the finer points of NCAA legality, and the conference's blatant apathy toward enforcement, this is a match made in heaven.

Hummm ... I think it's a timing issue. This gives them time to talk to other coaches (behind the scenes) WELL before the end of the season, WELL before recruiting begins post season, WELL before coaches are re-uping their contracts, etc. It also gives them a built-in scape goat for the rest of the year. Now, why would Zook agree to that scenario is strange.

I gotta go with Chow on this one. He is once again one of the highest rated coordinators in the nation. Also, they can return a powerful offense to UF, but one that would be a little more balanced than the old Fun and Gun. Think of the recruiting base he would have in FL.
