In-State Players to Watch

'14 OH DB Mike Edwards

Scout - Is Edwards Ohio's Top CB?

4/10

One of the top players in Ohio for the class of 2014 is Cincinnati Winton Woods cornerback Mike Edwards, and he is currently listed as the number-17 prospect in the state.

Edwards, 5-foot-11, 175-pounds, is a four-star recruit with offers from the likes of Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kentucky, Nebraska and West Virginia.

"I'd love to have an offer from Ohio State, and I visited there last week," he noted. "Coach (Kerry) Coombs is great and he tells me they like me a lot. I really like it there a lot and I'm going to go to camp. Coach Coombs wants to see me play cornerback in person, and I'm fine with that."

My apologies if he has been mentioned here (I don't visit this thread often) but this Josh Krok kid looks very impressive from what I saw in the film I put below from the Pittsburgh combine. 6'9 307 lbs. and really light on his feet and can bend the knees. Huge wingspan. From Niles, Ohio and was the #2 offensive performer on the day behind Marcelys Jones. He has offers from West Virginia, Akron, Kent State, and Toledo but I have a feeling that will change soon. Upside off the charts...really want to see him up against some of the better guys in the country.

Also in the video is Dakota Tallman from Elyria, a 6'5 OT who looked pretty solid.

Pittsburgh Combine (about halfway in)

World of potential...wish we had more schollies to give out and not a dire need for OL to play right away. Likely a developmental player but his knee bend and athleticism are remarkable for a player his size...lots of natural strength too. Would love to find room to bring Krok in.
