2018 In-State Players To Watch

L'CHRISTIAN SMITH COULD BE BIG TIME 2018 PROSPECT
Although he's only got one offer at the moment, there's no doubt that Wayne (Huber Heights) 2018 wide receiver L'Christian Smith is a player to watch in Ohio. A 6-foot-5, 200-pound sophomore for the Warriors, Smith is talented basketball player and a dynamic football player. He's savvy enough that he was likely to be the starting quarterback for Wayne if Michigan State pledge Messiah deWeaver hadn't transferred in and his football days are really just getting started.

Ohio.com Archbishop Hoban vs St V-M.. battle of #2 vs #3 in the state.. both unbeatens

"Sophomore Nate Bauer led Hoban (5-0) and was named the game MVP by the Great American Rivalry Series, which is presented by the United States Marine Corps. He had a 70-yard interception return for a touchdown and gained 51 yards on four punt returns."

PAY ATTENTION TO 2018 STAR NATE BAUER
The offense at Akron Archbishop Hoban this year should be a pretty dynamic one. While highlighted by two 2017 Ohio State commitments (Danny Clark, Todd Sibley, Jr.) and a 2016 Michigan State pledge (Jonah Morris), the most explosive player on the field for the Knights could be a little-known 2018 wide receiver.

Meet Nate Bauer, a 6-foot-tall, 181-pound wide receiver/defensive back who, as an eighth-grader, posted the best SPARQ score at a Nike combine in Massillon.

Bauer has already begun to hear from a number of major football programs, according to an assistant coach at Hoban. Ohio State, Notre Dame, Maryland, Michigan State, Syracuse, Cincinnati, and Boston College are among the schools inquiring about Bauer, who started every game for Hoban's varsity team on offense and took a starting role on defense in week four.

Bauer reportedly runs a sub-4.5 40-yard dash and is expected to end up close to 6-foot-2 and is definitely a young player that we'll hear about in the upcoming years. He'll camp at Pittsburgh this weekend and is expected to camp June 13th for the Buckeyes.

Very, very high on this kid and I've been hearing a ton of buzz on him out of the GWOC. Incredibly talented athlete but the only question is whether he will outgrow the position or not. Could grow into a TE or even convert over to DE eventually. He also is pretty high on the basketball route but he has a lot of people in his ear telling him football is his meal ticket. Either way, keep a close eye on this one.
