Indiana at tOSU, November 21st, Noon on Fox

If genius James Franklin would have successfully instructed his RB to go down at the 2-yard line after getting the first down with about 1:42 left, the Nits would have taken knees and the game would have ended in regulation.

Indiana’s total offense for the game if it had ended that way: 131 yards.

Good point. Penn State had that game won everywhere but the scoreboard. He didn't even need to go down at the 2 yard line. He could have run a play that went backwards 10 yards and danced around for 10 seconds. Run the clock out that way. There's some coaching strategy that Franklin should have used.

Bottom line is that I like Allen's optimism, but it's just empty optimism until he wins.

Until Ohio State beats them in 2020, he isn't wrong.
But (knock on wood) I don't see anything short of a COVID cancellation stopping Ohio State from beating Indiana. Penix made a valiant effort to beat Penn State (I still think he was short, but I like it better this way), and he may do the same against Ohio State. But that 2-point conversion won't help much when they're down 28.

I hope Indiana fans think this week's cancellation is a conspiracy to give Ohio State a bye week before playing them.
You said Penix was short.

I have to say... this game worries me a bit for a few reasons.

1. Our defense against Penix is not a good matchup for us.

2. If they cancel the game for Covid reasons they go to the championship game if they take care of business.

I'm not worried about our offense but at the same time we haven't been as good as we have been in the redzone either. I really think this will be a 49-42 type of game if the defense doesnt come to play.

They've really shown improvement the past 3 weeks and I don't really like our trend the past 2. Hopefully I'm wrong and it's another 52-17 beat down but I'd be surprised.

1. Fields is a worse matchup for any defense than Penix is for Ohio State's
2. Ohio State would still have to have one more game cancelled AND have fewer than three other cancellations in the whole league for Ohio State to lose out on Indi.

I would think the question is... which defense is more likely to get a few stops. That's probably a toss up right now to be honest.

But yeah it's always good to have #1 on your team that's for sure.
