Game Thread Indiana at tOSU, Sat Oct 9, 12:00 ET, ESPN/2

I understand the movement to emphasize player safety in football. I think it is especially important at the college level. The overwhelming majority of college football players are not going to play pro football, and are going to need to use their brains after they leave college.

That said, I think many of the calls that people took exception to took that too far. I especially take exception to the idea of a "defenseless" player. First of all, nobody wearing 20 pounds of armor is "defenseless". Secondly, officiating along these lines is changing the overall complexion of the game of football. It's taking the toughness out of the game. It's changing decision-making. Didn't you used to have to be a badass to run routes over the middle? Didn't QBs used to get torn a new one for hanging their receivers out to dry. Nowadays if a QB throws a bad ball or makes a bad decision that gets his teammate lit up, he gets a high five and an automatic first down.

I think the best thing about this game is putting Saine in at WR.

OSU direly needs a real 3rd WR. No one has stepped up in that role, really (since Duron left).

4 passes, 84yds, 1 TD. I know it was against Indiana, but if he can keep up that type of production, I will be very, very happy. The truth is, we need a WR more than we need a HB, given that we have Herron, Hyde, Berry and Hall.

I'd have to agree with this post, He did a great job as a WR, I can't see a reason not to keep him at that position.

When you see Berry and Hyde run the ball you wonder not how good the O line is but how good the starting backs are? (though Boom had a lovely TD run. ) I'm still confounded and worried for our running game.
Cheez! Can't we ever be happy with the offense?

Best team in the country? I don't see it after watching South Carolina take apart 'Bama. ( I should note that SC had 2 weeks to prepare for Bama and Bama will face a schedule of 2 week prepared teams!!!!! Has any team ever faced such a task?)

Next week will be more telling for us.

Personal Foul on you - "Referring to another man in an affectionate manner." Thats a man-card penalty, please turn it in now.

Solid win by the Bucks. Tressel taking his 100th victory as a coach in Columbus - When its all said and done his name will be in lights along side Woody. I could even see it being called "Tressel Field" if he keeps up his ways.

You were thinking the same damn thing don't lie hahahahaha...

Only 7 National Titles over 38 years? Fire him now and avoid the hand-wringing, and teeth-gnashing! And while we're at it, he's got 6 B10 titles now, and only 9 more over the next 28 years? What a slump!
