One of the local sports writing idiots mentioned a couple of weeks ago that Mason was the first choice for the OSU job when Tressel was hired. He made it sound like a contract had been offered, but there was some sort of snafu. I figured it was just his own idiocy as a blatant michigan fan, but wondered if anyone else had ever heard anything like this.

I've only heard about Wisconsin and Purdue running the Big Ten. Nothing about Minnesota though.

I don't believe Mason was ever offered the job. If he had been, I think he'd be here.

Yeah, did he not even state Publicly he wanted the job?
I remember him having to go back to his team and apologize.

I like Mason - and I don't blame him for going hard after the OSU job.

Barring some unbelievable turn of events - he knows that he'll never get to try his hand a his dream job.

He's done a solid job at Minny - but not enough to make me wish we had him instead of JT.

So now I am totally confused...."It is only Indiana" but they just beat Minny.

And we just beat a team that beat down Iowa who laid the smack down on us. Does that make us better or worse than Army?:) :slappy:
