Iowa State 28, Army 21 (Final)

I'm really starting to wonder about Iowa's DL now. ISU's OL is not doing well in this game in either pass protection or run blocking. Army is getting pressure on a lot of plays with a four man rush.

Then again, this is starting to look like a classic hangover game for ISU. They were much, much more emotional and fired up playing rival Iowa.

Edit: Same thing on the other side of the ball. Every play Army calls is going for positive yardage, and Army is winning at the LOS. And as Rod has pointed out, their lines are SMALL.

Edit again: Man, Ross' kid is calling a great game as OC. Nothing fancy, just watching what the defense is doing and adjusting. He's got a good future in coaching.

Was pulling for Army thru 3d. & 4th. quarters... Lotta heart shown but size does matter! These Cadets have PT schedules (in addition to practice) designed to prepare them for RANGER school, etc.... Exception being the Air Force Academy. Great to watch & pull for but given the extra requirements the service academies have; maybe division 1A is too tall a demand. The D-back w/ the face mask had better be a senior or he'll catch pure hell this week.
U-Rahhhh...

I always root for the service academies. I guess my time in the Marines and my families military background are a big reason. The only time I root against Army is when they play Navy. There are alot of players on the Navy team that will become Marine Corps officers. I was hoping for an upset but Army came up a bit short. They showed alot of heart.

Another great attribute of the service academy players is good sportsmanship. Every down they help the other team up and they don't talk smack. Their celebrations are a fraction of what other teams do and they represent themselves on the field with class.

IMO Iowa is in for a big surprise. Alot of ISU's ranking is due to their victory over Iowa. Maybe both teams are overated. ISU clearly had the better athletes last night but there was not alot of players I was wow'ed by. In Fact, I WAS THINKING HOW IN THE HELL DID THESE GUYS BEAT iOWA THAT BADLY.
