Iowa's Stadium Vandalized

Dumpster Fire behind the rows...
Sorry, I didn't know where else to post this, but this is pretty damned funny:

Here's the link to this story: http://www.kcrg.com/article.aspx?art_id=97943&cat_id=123#

Cedar Rapids – KCRG) --A prank at the University of Iowa has some Hawkeye fans seeing brown. The work of vandals is just now burning through on the field at Kinnick Stadium.

Someone apparently sneaked past security last week and used herbicide to carve a message into the turf.

TV 9 took a Newscopter 9 image around the University of Iowa campus to find out what Hawkeye fans thought about the vandalism.

"This is pretty infuriating actually. I just don't understand why someone would do that on the middle of the field."

Iowa senior Nate Binkley is seeing Kinnick in a completely different way.
A prank clearly spells out his frustrations with just a few words.

"I see the words 'Iowa sucks' spelled out on the field at Kinnick. I gotta tell you it's pretty disappointing."

Like many other students, Binkley didn't notice the flaw in the field last Saturday at Iowa's Homecoming.

The game went on with only the word 'sucks' then barely visible at the 5-yardline. But, as the days passed, the entire message revealed itself.
Students say it's especially rude after the university has spent millions on renovations and improvements to Kinnick.

The school laid down new turf after the Northern Iowa game just a few weeks ago.

Students have many questions: Is security at Kinnick tight enough?; Who is responsible for the prank?; but most of all, why did it happen here?

"Not Iowa, not Iowa."

True - football is all about competitiveness, but after seeing something like this, students just want revenge.

"I just love that place, I love the school, I love the Hawkeyes and I want to know who did this."

Officials say they're still looking into the culprit.

They also say the grass should be regaining its color by October 15, the first home game, against Indiana.

I thought I saw the word "Sucks" on the field...the article said they just put down new turf...well, that was some of the nastiest turf I have ever seen, maybe they should have watered it a little

Thread Jacking Alert: My first year at OSU was 1961. In our botany class we had to take home a chili/soup carton filled with dirt and a bean and grow a bean plant, keeping a journal and then turning it in toward the end of the quarter. Of course the big thing was for roommates to find your beanplant unprotected and do something horrible to it. My plant was over a foot tall and had luxuriant green leaves. Then, just two days before I was due to turn it in, I noticed a white ring in the dirt and in no time my plant wilted and died. The white ring was the trace left by my roomate's urine. He'd staggered in from the 'Burg, saw the plant and decided to water the thing. I coulda killed him. Fortunately he flunked out before Spring quarter.
