to read through the Bucknut and BSB posts. Also, the posters on the O-zone are after OB to be fired as the BB coach.
I find no content or substinance to the posts. I don't see much relavent to Bucks football. Hopefully, this site will get busier with posters who were banned from Bucknuts
I don't have to worry about being late for work each morning because of reading the posts on the BN board. :)

The vast majority of the posts on the OZone support OB.

Tht support is often qualified with the disclaimer that he prolly needs to make the Madness next year to keep his job. I think that sounds about right.

This is the deadest of the dead periods for football. Spring practice should jump start things a bit. BTW - anybody heard whether practices will be open?

As for Obie, I am very concerned by the comments I am hearing about the St John's job. It seems clear between the lines that Obie is open to that one if the terms are right. That would be a tremendous blow to the OSU program - simply to say that a coach viewed a move from OSU to St John's as a step up.

But I guess this all belongs on the BBall board.

O-H,

That is news to me... what is the deal with Obie to St. John's? Does he want to get back to NY, unhappy at OSU, is it just a dirty rumor....?

Maybe a little of all three. I would hate to see it.

For those of you who believe that the Buckeyes have to make the "big dance" next year to keep his job;

TAKE THAT GARBAGE SOMEPLACE ELSE!

LOL...yes...lets not worry about postseason basketball at all right?

Please. Demand excellence. I don't think it is too much to ask that Ohio State be among the top 65 programs in the nation.

I am all for OB but I recognize that the games are played for a reason. 3 down years in a row is too much to be labeled a rebuilding effort. Personally I have faith that OB will get this team into the tourney next year, but I firmly believe if he doesn't AG has to take a long hard look at what would be 3 years w/o a decent season. An entire class of recruits would be on the verge of turning over with out ever being competitive.

gbear - Obie has been officially mentioned as one of several candidates for the job. When either he or Geiger have been asked their responses are that he is happy at OSU but neither will emphtically say he is not considering the position.

RAM - I think the Obie bashers this year have gone way overboard. Last year was all about injuries. This year I simply can't explain, but I am willing to let it go and chalk it up to poor team chemistry and a bad voice box. But three years in a row without making the NCAA?

I love Obie - absolutely love him. But three or more years has happened only once since 1980. With four returning starters plus Billings plus Harris plus Terwilliger plus Butler....

If we don't make the dance next year we better have a legitimate gripe with the selection committee.

Hineyg8 says we should demand excellence. Obie also gets PAID for excellence.

HYNYG8 - I never said anything about not worrying about post-season play (although I'm not sure "worry" is the right word here). I was more disapointed in last year's team than this year's. I thought we had more talent last year, but for some reason they became a one-man team. For some reason expectations were real high this year, and I couldn't understand that. T. Dials was coming back after missing a year, two players expected to make significant contributions were transfers from schools that didn't miss them, and we had no point guard. Where is the "big dance" in that? That they were almost .500 is a blessing.

Now let's really look at next year. As things stand right now, we have two "promising" freshmen coming in, and we lose our most consistent player from this year's team.

I know OB is responsible for the talent on the team, but even that is not his fault alone. So next year it's "bid dance" or fired? I say next year competitive and entertaining, or your fired.

(This, I hope, would make more sense if it wasn't 4:00am)

Then it appears we simply disagree on the definition of "competitive"...so we are close in our opinions. Both of us agree next year is critical for OB. However, you are willing to consider a little more slack than I am.

In the end I would like to see OB here for many years, but I believe in order to retire at OSU he has to get more Ws a year than the last two seasons have allowed. He is a man of tremendous character and a credit to the university off and on the court, but it takes a lot of character to overcome not making the NIT. I certainly hope he gets this team turned around and back on track, making the 2003 basketball season a lot like Woody's 1967 football season.

Isn't is a little strange that Cincinnati, Xavier, and Dayton all have much better teams than Ohio State?? And look at that, they are all from Ohio. It's getting really old being a lack-luster basketball team. Look at the freakin Schott, it's an amazing building, yet there is no support to come out because what is there to really support?

I've supported OB, but there is really something not right when all these other Ohio schools can have success, yet Ohio State is the biggest college in this state and has none.
