Saw31

High Seas Rogue
....to start thinking about next year. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the QB situation is going to look like. Having worked quite a bit in the Massillon/Canton area a few years ago, I met alot of knowledgable football fans who were really touting Zwick. They had seen him in person/on TV and were really high on him. Are there any guys from that area who can shed some light on the subject for me. Since we didn't get to see him much this year, I'm kinda going in blind. I did see a few short highlight clips of him, but not much else. Or do some of you guys think that Smith may beat him out? I kind of got the feeling that the coaches were looking to move Smith to another position after seeing him returning kicks. It looked to me like they want him on the field, but I don't think you would put your future starting QB or even backup QB for that matter, back to return kicks (I could be wrong though). Any thoughts?

Tress has gone on record saying that if the season were to start today Zwick would be his starter. But, anything can happen in the Spring. I think it's telling as well that Smith was on special teams, but then Bellisari spent some there as well.

It's going to be an interesting Spring, particularly if we strike gold and land X.Lee.

I am looking forward to seeing the QBs and WRs for next season. All of the attention is currently on Davis and to some extent Ginn as a WR, but there are a stable of WRs who also have the potential to be electrifying on the field over the next few years. OSU's version of "Sweetness", Santonio Holmes, hopefully steps it up another notch. Roy Hall has also shown signs of greatness the few times he was on the field. The catch Hall made in the Washington game was big time. The Zwick pass to Izzy (that Izzy unfortunately dropped) in the Northwestern game hopefully is a preview of the accuracy and touch that future OSU QB (Zwick or Smith or whomever) will bring to the table the next few years. Hamby ready to step in for Hartsock as a go to guy. Childress and Gamble (assuming he returns) will provide senior leadership and should see significant time on the field. And the red shirt freshmen - Gonzo, Hiley, and Zwick's favorite target at Massillon, Devin Jordan - these kids were touted as great recruits last year and there is no reason to believe that they cannot step in big time. There is a lot to look forward to in the upcoming spring game.
