It's bc he ran against actual linebackers, so he was "faster". Look at his strength stats if you want a laugh.

Going by rough memory here, but his speed was 5th or 6th among pure safeties and close to 20th among all DBs.

As 27 pointed out, he was listed as a LB, so some gushed. The reality is that he had good times comparable with his defensive production. He did not have elite results in terms of speed.

As always, he's about unrealized potential.
