I'm really confused by the surprise in Carman picking Clemson. He openly said they were his leader after his initial visit, and always made it clear that just because he grew up in Ohio that he should not be considered a lock to tOSU. I'm fine with his decision and hope he does well there. The fans should be a lot more upset with Jones and Woodbey, since they were "committed" for so long before flipping.

I do find it humerous though, that Dabo told him that Urban may not be tOSU's coach for the duration of his career. If Saban retires, Bama's going to call Dabo and ask how much money he needs, Dabo's going to give a number and Bama's going to say "done" and that will be the end of the negotiation.

I doubt he's trolling. I have little doubt that in the darker corners of our fanbase, some morons took to the interweb tubes to harass this kid, possibly even threaten him. It's sick. As far as I know, he never did anything negative towards Ohio State but simply chose to go elsewhere. Some people really, really need to reevaluate what's important in their lives.

I suspect a lot of OSU fans' negative feelings toward "The Jiant" aren't just about his decision to play football at Clemson "whilst" getting a free education. I think it's more about the manner of making that decision, or at least how some people are guessing it went. Recruiting isn't a game, it's a business, and should be treated that way - and both sides should make whatever decisions they need to make for their own self interest. But if (and I don't know if this is what happened here), you're stringing someone along and causing them to pass on other opportunities whilst knowing full-well that you're not going with them, only to gather up a little extra attention and ego gratification for yourself, then a bit of contempt that gets sent your way may not be completely unwarranted.

I hear what you're saying, I really do. But regardless, an immature kid is just that. Adults tweeting at him is simply pathetic. And this goes not only for the OSU fan base but all. Recruiting in 2017 is now a dramatic event and fans, media and coaches are as much to blame as anyone. kids only get this attention if its given. it's no different than toddlers throwing temper tantrums for attention, you ignore them and it stops. problem is, we're past the point of this recruiting drama slowing down. Teenagers can play with entire fan bases with social media messages. At one side I feel for these kids, and then again I think they bring it upon themselves. The one recruit who I paid attention to on social media just to observe, was Torrance Gibson, and my god did he love the adulation, and many of these kids arw the same. Carman wasn't as bad of a diva, but he also loved the attention, and honestly I can't blame him or anything recruit. At 17yo I would be the same if not worse if I was a top recruit. We make theaters about these kids, analysts break down not only their games but tweets, visits, and try to dig into subliminal messages . Tje early NSD has made this drama ramped up as well. Buckle up fellas

I'm with you all but the whole "just immature kids" excuse is BS.. was I perfect at his age? No (no one is) but I knew how to treat people and knew right from wrong.

Just because they're 18 years old doesn't me it excuses them of some of the stunts these kids pull.
