Jackson "L" Carman (OL Cincinnati Bengals)

Exactly... There was a film of him literally bullying a kid at DE (not sure if its the same film) but no joke he had to have had almost 200 pounds on him. This DE couldn't have been more then 180-190 and Jackson was just finishing him every chance he got at 360 pounds.

That's nothing man... How do you do when they can fight back? Well, at first glance not so good actually. He'll never be a Tackle because he will never dedicate himself to lose 50 pounds but he can be a good guard. He'll probably always struggle in pass pro but he'll probably excel run blocking.

I find this to be interesting because Colerain's DE's are about that size. In pass pro he never laid a hand on them in 3 years. In run blocking the DE's occupied him enough for LB's to do their job in the 50 slant that the Cards run. Fairfield had their best offensive output against Colerain this past season and did well running behind Carmen. Until they threw the ball.

The kid I remember seeing on Film appeared terrified though... You could tell he was hesitating and was just trying to not get killed. I think Jackson knew this and took the opportunity to burry him multiple times when the chance was there.

He won't have any of that now though... I borderline said this when he was uncommitted (but didn't in fear of it being a violation of the board) but I'm the opposite of disappointed we didn't land Carman. I would've only been OK with it just for the recruiting rankings boost to be honest but I saw many drawbacks as a reason for a pass on him (very out of shape, critiquing JT and his Twitter war with Herbie, lack luster performance against others who are good, and of course his hair).

couldn’t handle Colerain’s speed rush for three years (Ivan Pace, Jr)...wtf is Chase Young going to do to this fool??

That’s why I’m going with 5-star offensive tackle prospect Jackson Carman in 2018. He was considered a “must-get” for the Buckeyes, but ended up choosing Clemson over Ohio State on Early Signing Day.

Tackle wasn’t a big issue for the 2019 Buckeyes, and they seem reasonably well-positioned for the 2020 and beyond with Thayer Munford, Nick Petit-Frere, Dawand Jones, Paris Johnson, and Max Wray on the roster and Donovan Jackson already committed for 2021.

But this is more about taking something away from Dabo Swinney. Given how slim the margin was during the 2019 Fiesta Bowl, removing a starting offensive lineman from the Clemson roster may well have been enough to swing the result of the game.

Carman might not have even been a starter for the 2019 Buckeyes, but he would certainly be in the mix for a starting job this season and beyond.

But by NOT starting for Clemson last fall, he could have done enough to get the Buckeyes into the national championship game.
