Jalen Hurd (RB Tennessee, transfer to Baylor)

I'm of the opinion that position really doesn't matter when recruiting him. Jalen is a special, unique talent and is going to be a dynamic playmaker in whatever offensive system he's in, whether that be at RB or elsewhere. You just want him on your team and not the other team... and I hope we see him and Scarlet & Grey.

This. I want Hurd regardless.

Those of you that was to disagree with me can do so all you want...but the numbers support my statement. I could rattle off dozens of backs that were 6-3+. I could rattle of thousands of backs who weren't. But, did I say it was impossible for Hurd to be a successful back at that size? No. Did I say that he could thrive at RB in the right system? Yes.

I can't believe these numbers for a player his size! Besides Isaac, the only player still in HS that I've seen put up similar numbers is derrick Henry in Florida going to Alabama next year. Interesting to see what these guys do at the college level, and if they stay as rbs. All are very special players as well. I can only imagine what Hurd would do in our system. I'm sure most would like to see him in a role like Aaron Hernandez, but the great part is, Hurd seems like he can stay at RB, and for all we know even end up in the versatile "Percy harvin" role playing RB/wr. This kid is really really good

Beech running back Jalen Hurd set championship records with 394 yards and seven TDs, as well as breaking the state's single-season rushing record in a 56-35 victory over Columbia.

Beech is my wife's high school alma mater. We had the opportunity to watch a game earlier this year in person. Jalen is the real deal. He hits the hole fast and has great acceleration for his size. I can't remember seeing him go down after first contact once.

Good year in football for my household: my alma mater, Clinton Massie, wins the Ohio D4 championship; my wife's alma mater Beech wins the Tennessee 5A championship; and the Buckeyes go 12-0!

Great highlight video! With his blend of speed and sizes and being able to outrun almost everyone on the field, he reminds me a lot of Eric Dickerson. A big RB that runs and uses his speed and not his size to over power defenses. Not a bad thing, just that big rbs usually try and run people over, and these 2 run past everyone and both have exceptional vision. I see Hurd playing around 220-225 in college and not sure if hell be a RB or wr but just get him signed and figure out a position later. Kid can play some football

If that's not a 5 star film, I don't know what is. Style reminds me of Adrian Petersen (how he carries the ball and hits the hole a 100 mph)...not quite on that same level but c'mon, this kid is unreal. Get him to Columbus and UFM will figure out the rest later. However, I LOVE Hurd at RB and would be a fan of trying him there first.

And not only that, but despite his size and upright running style, he is unbelievably athletic and has an uncanny ability to make the other guy miss.

Straight up, the guy is a football player and one heck of a playmaker, whatever position he plays on offense. One you want on your team and not on the other team. Would absolutely love to see this kid in S&G.

He doesn't remind me of AD because Hurd doesn't run over defenders. He goes down easier than AD and doesn't run as violently. AD almost loves the contact and Hurd rather make a defender miss and run past him. He's more finesse as opposed to AD who is more power but also has finesse in his game. Almost all of hurds runs show him outputting everyone and moving like a smaller RB

Jalen reminds me a lot more of darren mcfadden than adrian peterson. McFadden had a similar upright running style and ran with a shifty style and was able to make hard cuts while remaining at high running speed similar to Jalen. Peterson as mentioned previously ran straight at defenders and used his power and balance more while running.

Here's a refresher on McFaddens running style
