James Carville says...

WOW...not good for TSUN! I watched this guy single handedly put Clinton in the White house. He's no beauty but he is genious. Dumbest move Bush sr. ever made was letting him bully him into debating Clinton on TV. He knew Clinton would destroy bush in a debate. Put your money on minnesota.

I read that article the other day- first thing he's ever said that I agree with.

He does have some pretty good responses, though. Another question was: Where did you get your passion for football? Carville said "In the south, I think you get it from your mother's milk."

You know... I've probably never agreed too much with old James either... but to tell you the truth... I love the guy... (And If I were running for office... and someone told me Carville was runnning my opponents campaign, I's probably just quit)... Anyway... If I were going to be a Democrat... I'd be him... (Why Not? I would have turned crazy anyway if that were the case :wink2: ) The dude is just hilarious... and a freaking bull dog...

Seriously, if pope Mohammed Bruce Jesus Lee came down and told me Minnesota would beat Michigan in Ann Arbor, I'd bet against him.

Have you seen what Glen Mason has managed to do v. Michigan in the last 2 years? Nothing much, really. Just manage to blow a 28 point lead and lose a game where he was leading by 2 scores with 5 minutes left.

He calls it like he sees it, and I think regardless of your political preference you have to agree with some of his comments. The guy is crazier than hell, and really has a lot of balls with some of the shit he says. The pot shots at Michigan are priceless.

carville - bustown

ohio state's been making michigan look bad under Coach T's inspired leadership. one of the texas players said michigan's was a lot better program than oklahoma's, just before scraping by uM by a point at midnight.

Carville is a Useful Idiot, probably. back about 1970, Averill Harriman, old railroad/now bank money, a real member of the Establishment in the East, said, "we've got to get off our high horses and start looking at some of these southern governors" (as candidates for president. 'we' was, i assume, the people he was always working with, 'the wise men', representing higher financial centers in the east.).

since Harriman (Ahriman?) said that, we've had a southern governor in 1976, a western one in 1980/84, southern CIA in 88, hillbilly/hick in 1992/96, southern governor in 2000/04.

Carville isn't important. just part of the scenery for now. colorful and the embodiment of 'politics is show business for ugly people.'

I don't know. I'm ugly, and I don't find him amusing, but he is in show bidness.

thread hijack alert, but this thread's from August, so what the hell.

Is this Harriman guy related to the one that owned the RR in "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"?

Remember the guy inside the train car with the safe, saying:

"I work for Mr. E.H. Harriman of the Union Pacific Railroad.."

right before they blew the hell out of that boxcar?

I'm sure he is, because EH had a son named Averill, who actually had Bush's grandfather, before he was Senator Prescott Bush, working for him. Prescott Bush worked for Brown Brothers Harriman, a Wall Street Investment Banking firm, back in the 1920s and 1930s.
