James “not elite” Franklin (HC Penn St. Nittany Lions)

The problem with the Penn State job is that you have to beat Ohio State and Michigan and then get by Wisconsin or Iowa and occasionally Sparty. Compare that with getting by Syracuse, Pitt, and occasionally Notre Dame in the "Glory Years" of our Blessed St. Paterno.

At USC you have to get by the NCAA rules committee.
Also with Penn St you have to like pennsyltucky with USC you have to like LA both seem awful to me

Are most PSU fans "East Coast, Tony Soprano" type football fans? They're loud for old State U but really care about the NFC East
Or are they "Stillers" fans that need something to do with their time on Saturdays in the fall.
Nope. They are Pennsytucky types that live in an echo chamber and never leave the safety of the cult. They eat, sleep and drink Ped State football year round and that is the only thing they care about.

You act like Franklin isn't from PA, I'm sure he's quite aware of the crazy in them there mountains. The biggest city that Franklin has coached is Nashville, so it's not quite cut and dry that he'd leave for USC(though I'd hope that he'd take the gig in LA)

It's a mix depending on what part of the state. If you're near philly or Pittsburgh then they're equally dumb about the eagles or Steelers. If you're from other parts of the state you either pretend the NFL isn't as good bc none of those teams do it the "right way"...or you're a bandwagon Cowboys fan.

Bingo. I married into a family from Wilkes-Barre, PA, and they are all about Ped St doing things the "right way"(and they were pushed even further into the Pedster cult after NFL players kneeling). My wife was converted to an OSU fan(much to the chagrin of her pops). And I take glee in wearing my OSU gear to Christmas and Easter dinners.
I haven't yet met a logical Ped St fan. I've worked with numerous, and have a boss now that is a Ped St alum. And they're ALL cultists! They all worship at the alter of JoePa(and I've been on record multiple times of being baffled at grown men who are executives referring to JoePa as "Joesus", "Jesus" or even "God")
