James Quick (WR Louisville)

Honestly, I normally agree with everyone who says "one game won't make a difference" but you have to look at the situation here.

So far, most people said he's been either 50/50 between us and Louisville or leaning towards Louisville. And in choosing between us and them, he's choosing between the elite, premier program with unrivaled resources, and the hometown school he's always rooted for and for which I believe his father played for.

So the main arguments in favor of us in terms of football are superior opportunities, better athletes around him who will push him further, and the chance to play for NCs and Rose Bowls.

In this scenario, I can see Louisville's victory being more important than just any other big win because it showed that Louisville can compete with the big dogs. If Louisville can beat Florida, the #2 SEC team, then our main advantage in his eyes is probably diminished. That win IMO showed Quick that he won't be sacrificing the opportunities/resources/NCs he thought he would, by going to Louisville.

I'm not saying I agree with that thought process, as I personally believe OSU offers a lot more than Louisville both on and off the field. However, for a player who's probably looking for a reason to play for his hometown school, I think it makes sense that Louisville beating Florida was more important than some of us believed.

Sorry for the wall of text. Of course, if he announces for us I'm going to look like a massive idiot. Something I'm really hoping for

Wow, I'm shocked .. anyone else think Louisville's clobbering of Florida helped them in the end?
Answer to the question is no. Louisville led all along. Everybody's final prediction I saw was Louisville. He committed to his hometown and alma mater of his parents. What's there to be shocked about?

Yep...good luck to him at Louisville...can't ever blame a kid for staying home and playing for the hometown school, especially one off a BCS Bowl victory with a dynamic QB and head coach.
