Jarts - Who Played 'Em?

Man I loved Jarts when I was a kid. I am talking about the real old school jarts too, not the faggy ones with the balls on the end. I'm talking about the real deals that could also be used to fuck up your friends. The best ones were the ones that the plastic part would move up and down as it sailed through the air.

I have been looking for a decent set on eBay for years, but they sell for a ton. I look at garage sales in the summer time, but no luck. Jarts were the shit!!

I do remember some minor injuries from my little brother taking two of them and spinning around in circles smacking into people like a misguided kindermissile propeller.

My dad and I would play Jarts in the back yard while he drank beer. Fucker always won.

Stand in a cluster....one kid launches a jart straight up as hard as he can...wait for it to reach apogee....SCATTER!!

Rinse....repeat....

I still have mine in the basement.

Had a set at Grandma's house, they rocked. Used to play "pick off the squirrel" in the summer time.

Still have a set. When I was kid a friend ended up with one sticking through the top of his Converse "Chuck Taylors" into his foot. Never could get him to play again.

We had a set. Loved these things. And once again as others have said, it is amazing that no permanent injuries came from these things :)
