Javon Ringer (Former RB Michigan St.)

Duane posted yesterday that he has reason to believe Ringer will not be offered.

That was pretty interesting- I think HH said the same thing not too long ago

It's funny that the two Ohio favorites for offers the last two years (Delbert and Ringer) might not get offers. That is why you have to love following recruiting. :)

It would be a real shame if Ringer doesn't end up a Buckeye. Ultimately, I trust the staff's judgement on this stuff, but after seeing his videos, it bothers me to think that he wouldn't be doing that stuff in a scarlet & gray jersey.

You can't help rooting for Javon after reading this article. He wants to be a Buckeye and he is willing to work hard and be patient to earn the tOSU offer.

JT told him that they would be stay in touch and not to lose hope (on an offer).

I for one hope he ends up a Buckeye. :osu:

In case you guys are interested I split off Brandon Harrison from this thread into his own thread .

Since Javon is still a possibility for tOSU and BH made his choice I thought a split of the threads was appropriate. :)

I have a cousin that was one of Ringer's coaches at CJ. He's been telling me the last couple of years that Ringer has always wanted to be a Buck and would commit if offered. He says he's never seen a quicker RB in his life. Ringer is a workhorse but his only problem is his grades which is why he hasn't been offered. At least, that's the only reason we can come up with. They've been a problem in the past, that I know. He's buds with Brandon Harrison and I think he was a little miffed they didn't offer him but it won't detour him away from OSU. Ultimately, it was supposed to be a package deal with those 2. OSU could have gotten both, easily.

In any case, as long as Ringer does well in the classroom I think he'll get offered. He has CJ (Chaminade) going for him. It's a good school with a reputation for academics.

It sounds like Javon has gotten his academics in order and an offer possibly forthcoming.

With Kennedy no longer in the fold, I'd love to see us bring in Ringer along with Wells this year. We're going to need the numbers with only two RB's in the fold for 2005 at this time. Adding Chris Wells the following year would provide some well balanced and much needed depth at the RB position.

I think Tressel is weary of picking up RB's with possible academic problems and I don't blame him. Next to losing a QB to bad grades, losing an RB is the worst.

If Ringer has the dedication that I hear he has, it may not be a problem in the end
