Jeff Hafley (DC Green Bay Packers)

These situations never work out. He's already dividing his time between trying to build his class at BC and preparing for Clemson. If the focus isn't 100% on stopping Clemson's offense, I don't like our chances.
That's wrong it worked out fine with Herman a few years back. Depends on the coach some can divy time effectively others can't.

Stopping Clemson's offense is a full-time gig in itself. Traveling to BC for interviews, contacting potential reruits to salvage BC's class before early signing period, contacting and researching potential fills for new coaching staff, future living arrangements for his family.... come on dude, there are only so many hours in a day. He's one foot out the door already. The focus (and priority) isn't on Clemson, which is a potential problem.

edit..... and he isn't recruiting for the good guys right now, during the most crucial time to put a stamp on this class......which is a major problem.

This is my worry. All distractions the team faced this season were external... now its internal

Another example of a guy too fixated on getting a job than the right job.

Said the same thing about Ash. You'd think they'd be smarter/listen to better advice than that in regards to their careers.

Oh fucking well. Life has a wonderful mechanism for keeping score of bad decisions.

EDIT

do not wish him well in the least. This was some bullshit. There is always another stepping stone job open. Boston fucking College sure as shit isn't worth burning bridges over.

In fairness Clemson is dealing with same thing on offensive side of bAll since their co-OC is dealing with same thing in taking USF head coach job.....

I think the "he'll be too distracted to coach effectively in the playoffs" stuff is overblown. These guys don't spend 18 hours a day scheming and game planning. You can only scheme as much as you can install, which isn't a ton in the hours they have on the practice field before the game. They aren't going to come out and run a new defense against Clemson.
