Jersey / Uniform Discussion (OSU)

Then let me just say fuck whoever the hell it was that thought this was a good idea.
I'm sure you can put your middle finger up to Urban and the coaching staff, the AD, tOSU prez then, in cognition with Nike. Whether fans like it or not, jerseys attract recruits, no matter how small the measure. And they also more importantly bring a ton of money to the school(and of course to Nike). We will continue to see alternates, most definitely as long as Urban is here. Whether it be of the "throwback" variety or a new inventive scheme. We'll have to deal with it. Wouldn't be surprised to see an all white uni, a camo uni, etc at this point.

I do have to concede this as a truth. My issue is that all they need to do is recreate the Jersey's and pay the guys from the past a fair amount.

We've already worn a white uni at scUM and OSU.

Then the need for a cranialrectumoctomy is in Columbus and not Eugene? No problem, just get it done.

Sure, just come up with a $42.7 million donation that you can guarantee will come in every year, fully fund an internship, and toss in $10,000 extra for a bowl win and I'm sure you can make sure the look never changes.

Or just convince all the other fans to not buy them en masse and it will also stop pretty quickly. Somehow I doubt anyone who can pony up that cash cares about the issue as passionately, since they also would probably be the ones that get to interact with the recruits.

I'm no fan of this year's design, but hey, as long as the team wins I won't be complaining too much. If they lose, its all on this year's horse-abortion alternates.

Yeah, Alabama and Clemson can't recruit with their lame-o jerseys. I mean, really? You really think it helps with recruiting? LO-fucking-L

The best part is... these uniforms are borderline illegal and may cost the Buckeyes. The penalty is one timeout every quarter they are worn.

According to rule 1-4.5-b, the numbers on the jersey must contrast the base color of the jersey.

These jerseys suck asshole, and maybe if it costs us a title shot, the BS will stop. Throw backs are one thing, but this is crap.

You provided 2 teams... Good job, and I'll give you another Ped St. Great. 3 teams as outliers.
And yes, though it may be small effect, it does matter to recruits. Like it or not, Urban has stated so on numerous occasions. The jerseys make money, and the kids who will actually play and affect the future outcome of games like them. If you don't like them, don't buy them and don't watch OSU games when they wear them. But I can bet you that OSU fans will still watch and cheer on the Buckeyes and OSU won't turn down the check on the uniforms they helped design. Get over it, every year OSU will roll out alternates. And I'm sure you'll be seeing these alternates worn all over campus, just like the black ones. but not so much the ugly throwbacks we wore against Nebraska
