SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

Don't know anything about Hart, but I did see where James McKinney - DT from a couple of years ago that we were also chasing - has left the team for medical reasons.

I thought some of the quotes were from b10 media day, hence the newer article.

The recently published spring football media guide shows that nearly 82 percent of scholarship players on the 2007 Michigan football team who declared a major have done so in general studies. The four of 22 who did not pick general studies are majoring in psychology, American culture, sociology and sports management and communications, respectively."
I believe this meshes up with my observation last fall in the UM game thread.

The thing that bugs me is the arrogance. I don't think this practice is illegal, and may be the only way to run a football program at a great academic school like UM. Fine, I can accept that. But don't mock and demean other 'lesser' schools when in fact they might be pursuing more legitimate majors. This is directed primarily at the fanbase.

I clicked on every michigan name I recognized, trying to sample what classes the non-benchwarmers were taking. Looks pretty cushy to me.

"I wish he had never played here," Hart said this week during the Big Ten media meetings in Chicago. "I've never met him, and I don't want to."

Picture him saying this with a bonnet on his head and a rattle in his hand, because that's about where his maturity level stands. poor little fella... :(

I'm not trying to troll if it comes off as so. But why are you guys so hell-bent on saying Hart talks too much? I'm seriously just curious. Is it because of the "if we play them again it will be a different outcome" comments he made last year? Is he not allowed to voice his opinion? If he thinks that's what would have happened, why shouldn't he say it? I personally don't think U-M would have won a rematch (unless we found our defense which appeared to be riddled with impostors during that game) , but doesn't mean others can't think the other way.

To me, I think it's mostly that he sounds like a crybaby when he's talking. Most of the time, he's coming up with excuses for why things are the way they are. To be fair, though, I don't go searching for Michael Hart quotes. I only read them when I know they're going to be funny.

I don't see this "news" as very interesting. It's like a soap opera. Call me when Carr gets pregnant with Hart's baby, and Henne thinks its really his, or something.

Take it FWIW, but this post from the N'Western Board is pretty interesting:

UM can't handle the truth, Harbaugh is honestReply I can tell you from first hand experience in the early '80's. During the initial recruiting by UM, I told them I wanted to be pre-med and major in one of the sciences. I was told DIRECTLY,

"Those are probably too hard for you because Michigan is such a great school, you should really consider Sports Management instead. Many of our athletes are doing very well there."

That instantly crossed UM off the list. UM was the ONLY school who tried to have me change my academic interests. True story.

post on MLive

There is a similar story on this on the MLive forum.

Do you want to have some fun?...go to the MLive website and join their forum. Then leave messages like I do. I post things like how many days til OSU whips on UM...how many days it has been since UM has last beat OSU...just bash the heck out of them. It really ticks them off.

Poor sportsmanship and immature. I had the same reaction when Leinart uttered that the better team lost (or something to that effect), after the rose bowl vs Texas.

It's one thing to hold an opinion like that and share it among your brethren (ie lockerroom, or osu fans playing the 'what if' game on their own boards). But to put those quotes out in the media, or for OSU fans to play 'what if Troy hadn't been suspended' on the texas boards after the loss, it comes across as weak at best.

I also would not want to give the OSU defense 12 months of bulletin board material either. While the Tresselspeak taught to his players is boring during press conferences, it definitely helps in that department.

Mike Hart has serious passion that has translated to the field since his frosh year. However, that passion also results in a motor mouth.
"I don't know why I talk so much," Hart said. "That's just who I am."

I just saw a segment on ESPN that was a Big 10 preview. Of course, they had some hilarious quotes from Hart. One was him saying they have a Tom Brady at QB, a Lawrence Moroney at RB, and a Randy Moss at WR. However, he made no mention of the defense . The other gem of a quote was that Levi Brown owes Jake Long his signing bonus, because if Jake Long had gone into the draft there is no way that Brown would have been taken so high. :rolleyes1:

It is comforting to know that he will always have a losing record against tOSU

Always nice when Mike Hart makes our point for us. It's one thing to make overboard comparisons about your players, but Mike had to get in a swipe at another player. Classy. :roll2:
