Jim Boeheim (HC Syracuse Orange)

Completely believable after keeping their 2003 Championship somehow.
Every program that has ever taken a self imposed ban did it the year the punishment was coming. And as I recall, the majority here wanted to give up the year we played Florida in the meaningless bowl to save Urban's first season. But I guess as long as it's not your school, it's more fun joining the mob.

Not every program. OSU hoops for instance. They self-imposed a ban in early December 2004, they did not find out until March 2006 that the 2006 team would be able to participate in the postseason. Syracuse has had this punishment coming a LONG time, they were under fire in 2012. And they wait until what, February 2015 which was less than a month before the NCAA ruling came out to penalize themselves. Boeheim is delusional and in perpetual denial.

Just now catching on? This has been my point for a decade now.

BN: My comment was meant as a sarcastic and snide remark simply, because I thought it was convenient that the Orangemen were able to keep their NC as well as maintain employment for the HC. I don't give a flying fuck when and how they decide to take their punishment for the upcoming season. And just for clarity, my previous and this posts are NOT in any way, shape or form directed at you personally. I just think there's a ton of bullshit (as usual with the NCAA) when I see how they flounder their business with regards to issues and punishments. When they decide to actually axe Boeheim and no-cause his ass like they did Tressel, then I'll re-visit the rest of my position and thoughts.

I don't watch, but has he been getting a pass from ESPiN (if anyone watches "SportsCenter")?

I know ESPiN usually gives passes to head coaches who work for the network (in some capacity) and Boeheim, Calipari, Pitino, Wright, and some others usually work for ESPN/CBS/Turner after being eliminated.

Guy doesn't show up to post-game press conference and sends his assistant out instead after losing to NC State.

Weak move.

I don't know, maybe he's sending his chief negotiator like "Good Will Hunting"

"Retainer..."

I normally disregard anything Dick Vitale says during a game -- I usually move the volume to 3 (almost mute) -- but I still was able to overhear him overly-defend Jim Boeheim during the Louisville-Virginia game Saturday.

It was almost like Boeheim did nothing wrong (in the eyes of Vitale). I don't think Vitale even knows what Boeheim was charged with doing and Syracuse was charged with doing. It seemed like a very uniformed rant (Saturday).

Weak move.

Yet another "legendary leader" who ducks the hard questions and shrinks. Unbelievable timing, they get the sanctions handed down right before the end of the season, with this the only game after the sanctions came down, and Boeheim has to snub the media the one time he normally would have to face them right after he finally gets some of the embarrassment he deserves.
