Haha that was a joke anyways. I think all of us miss our great LBers and shutdown corners of only a few years ago. Other than the Smith-to-Ginn combo and Beanie stiff-arm, not many of us long for a Bollman-run offense anymore. While Urban Meyer and Tom Herman made some bone-headed decisions last Saturday, that aside, I think we can all agree that tOSU will be a much more successful team so long as the D gets fixed up.

The above paragraph is not meant to take away from Bolls. Congrats to the Walrus. He's taken a beating from Buckeye Nation but continues to tear the hearts out of his competition every year with his offensive style.

Yeah I wasn't trying to be dickish. :lol:

It just seems to me that with recruiting being a relative crap shoot, limited practices, and vast differences in styles of play, that having both the current offense and the D we're used to is unlikely. Even Urban's UF NC teams didn't produce both statistically.

I prefer D. Bollman's style of offense was a perfect complement to that style of defense. It continues to be as well.

Personally, I'm in no hurry to see Bollman associated with this program ever again.
But I'd murder somebody if there was even the slightest chance it'd bring Narduzzi in.

FWIW Urban's 2 NC teams gave up 13.5 and 12.9 points per game while scoring 29.7 and 43.6 points per game.
His 2009 team gave up 12.4 and scored 35.9 points per game as well.
I think Urban prefers dominant defenses as well. He's won with offenses that don't score as much; but all those teams had a dominant defense. This year's 46.3 ppg may be his best offense.

Where are you getting your stats? Just curious. I remember the SEC being full of anemic offenses during Urban's years in the conference. Not saying his D's weren't tough, but I'm wondering how many points those defenses held opponents to under their avg.

Anyway, I'd love to have Mike Leach as OC and Dick Lebeau as DC but since that seems unlikely...lol

With all due respect, if you are suggesting that "OL that Bollman recruited" would've played as well this past season with Bollman rather than Warriner in charge, then I don't know what else to say.

I don't know who called the plays for MSU on saturday, but they went away from the running game early on when they found that the front four and LBs could stop them. I have to wonder what would have happened had Roby not gone down. In those two series the Bucks went from 7 up to 3 down.

Again, I agree that that was especially when the Bucks needed to pound or found someway to get Wilson the ball in space. They needed to keep their defense off the field and they didn't.

What I admired most about the MSU defense was that though they gave up long runs, they didn't give up the long scoring run to Brax or Carlos. No one else had kept that from happening all season.

Finally, I wondered why the Bucks kept insisting on the long ball. Brax didn't have the touch on that ball in Michigan or Indianapolis.
