I wouldn't want Knight, and I doubt he would want to come back here. Personally I feel we need to be making a call to Kent State about thier head man. I would suggest Biancardi, but IIRC he was one of OB's boys and probably wouldn't come out of loyalty anyway.

I know this might be a reach but Steve Lavin is also looking for a job. How about Johnny Dawkins, Duke's assistant coach. Im sure neither of these guys are legit candidates, but a few names to throw around.

O'Brien:
"I learned this morning, by letter, that I was being fired as head men's basketball coach at Ohio State University for alleged violations of NCAA bylaws. I am advised that my firing is because I was asked to and tried to give assistance to a young man's family who was in dire financial straits. The assistance in no way influenced the young man in his decision to attend OSU, and, indeed, the young man did not enroll at OSU.
My lawyers have asked to meet with OSU administrators and their counsel to explain the details of what occurred, but OSU unfortunately refused to do so. I am grateful for the support I have received from the people in Columbus and throughout the State of Ohio while I have been coaching at OSU."

I think Biancardi would be a good replacement. After all, it's not like they'd can the whole staff. If Biancardi can't come back out of loyalty, then I guess the rest of the staff would have to leave for the same reason. If Biancardi came back, it would help smooth things out by having a replacement who is familiar with the program and the players. He did a great job at Wright State last season, and has that program heading upward.

Just heard the official statement from Obie's lawyer. Per that statement Obie gave financial aid to a distruaght family of an overseas player that did not influence the player's decision and that player did not come to OSU.

Most disturbing to me, Obie requested a meeting with OSU to discuss details of what happened and Geiger refused to meet with him.

This stinks.
