Jim Rome needs to be shot...talking about how the PAC 10 has more speed and athleticism than the Big 10. Also stating that USC destoryed Virginia a pretty solid ACC opponent. This guys is up there with Mark May.

Rome is essentially the Caucasian version of Mark May but with a much-wider focus (meaning he's a front runner for ALL of the sports, not just CFB). He's a front-runner who always sides with the more popular choice unless it's a choice involving a So Cal team, in which case he becomes a homer immediately.

His radio shtick hasn't changed in 15 years.....it used to be kinda funny, when I was in High School. But now mainly his 'takes' are predictable, his listeners make Pro-wrestling fans seem intelligent and there is very little useful information EVER on the show anymore. Hell even his renaming of people sucks now and that used to be something he was good at.....

Just ignore him. Eventually he'll go away or get punked by Serena Williams (after he calls her Steve or something)....

Jim Rome (Rome is Burning)

Is there anyone else here that really can't stand this guy? He starts off his show by going on a 5 minute bitch fest about what he doesn't like. I rarely make it back after that point.

Today he had a segment on Finnegan (CB from Titans of the NFL) and how he doesn't like flying and is scared to death of it. He couldn't understand why the CB could fly to all the away games and not want to fly to Hawaii for the Pro Bowl(he wants to take a Cruise ship there).

I did like the part where he brought up Braylon Edwards. Rome had a quote of Braylon saying he could care less about the Browns fans from Ohio who hate him because he is from SCUM.

I like Rome's rants...they're refreshing in their honesty if nothing else. I don't always agree with him, and he's an arrogant prick, but he's the good kind of arrogant prick that you can stand to listen to most of the time. I especially like when he reads something and then says "Oh OK..." and then totally trashes it (or someone, usually for doing something stupid).

It took me 5 minutes to stop laughing the one day when he was talking about Ditka doing an ED commercial and he said "Oh OK, yeah, nothing says I'm the toughest guy to ever play in the NFL quite like my crank doesn't work anymore". Even my wife was laughing at that one.

Some of his stuff I like, some I don't, he's on here from 9 til noon on 2 of the 3 sports radio stations in the area, and the third was is espn radio so that's usually pointless.

His take was that Braylon thinks Browns fans hate him because he's scUM, he pointed out that he went 1-3 against Ohio State, it's not like he's public enemy #1, also, they hate him because he's underperforming, that once he put on that Browns cap on draft day everyone forgot where he went to college.

Some truth to it, I mean they have a tight end from miami, a receiver from scum, a quarterback from Notre Dame, but if they win in the playoffs people will forget those details.
