Jimbo Fisher (ex-HC Texas A&M Aggies)

Jimbo Fisher: Starting FSU safety will miss first half of Alabama game

In the second half of FSU’s Orange Bowl win over Michigan, Seminoles’ starting safety Trey Marshall was ejected for targeting. A second-half ejection for targeting carries a further penalty of a suspension for the first half of the next game as well. Despite the fact that the next game for Marshall is the following season, it was assumed that the defensive back would have to sit out the first game of 2017; Monday, at the ACC spring meetings, Jimbo Fisher confirmed that Marshall will sit the first two quarters of the game against the Crimson Tide — although the head coach indicated that his conference will be looking to have that part of the rule addressed by the NCAA.

He will,” Fisher said when asked if Marshall would miss the first half. “And we’re trying to vote on that too [at the ACC Spring Meetings]. I think that’s crazy. No other sport, I don’t know a sport, you have those red cards in soccer, they don’t follow you year-to-year. But it is what the rule is now.”

The rule of a half-long suspension carrying over to the following season is, according to Fisher, not thought out well. He said that the ACC is looking to bring up the rule to be reviewed by the NCAA Football Rules Committee.

Suspensions carry across seasons in multiple sports Jimbo (you ignorant twat)

If a player commits rape or murder during the 2016 season, his slate should be wiped clean for the 2017 season. Especially if the first game is against Alabama. JMHO.

yeah, but he is going to vote to change that rule. and since all rules changes are retroactive i feel his logic here is pretty solid.

It's not like we're talking about tattoos here. Clearly the NCAA will side with Jimbo.

More chatter connects Jimbo Fisher to potential opening at A&M

Earlier this month, Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle was the first to mention Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher as one who could succeed Sumlin if the program goes in another direction, saying during an appearance on the Paul Finebaum Showthat “Fisher has been mentioned around [College Station] for some time now.” Tuesday, Dan Wolken of USA Today added additional fuel to the Fisher-A&M speculation. From Wolken’s report:

A&M is expected to inquire about the interest level of… Fisher once its separation from current coach Kevin Sumlin is official at the end of the season, according to two people familiar with the situation.

Never happen, he's not going anywhere.....

Dec 19, 2016....Florida State signed Jimbo Fisher to a contract extension through the 2024-25 football season, it announced Monday. Fisher’s new salary: $5.5M, making him one of the five highest-paid coaches in the country. And the "buyout" is rediculous too.

You're not going to find any crab legs for your QB to steal in College Station... Maybe some Rocky Mountain oysters, but no crab legs.
