Joey Bosa's quiet reflection has him poised to be the No. 1 pick, JaQuan Lyle continues to evolve

Following his first two seasons at Ohio State, it seemed obvious that Joey Bosa would declare for the NFL Draft following his junior season. It's hard to blame Bosa for making that decision, seeing that he is likely to be taken with one of the first few picks in this spring's draft. The start to this season for Bosa didn't go exactly as planned though, as he was suspended for the season opener against Virginia Tech after a violation of athletic department policy. After talking with his parents, Urban Meyer, and defensive line coach Larry Johnson, Bosa decided to make some changes that would ensure his status as a top pro prospect.
The first of those decision that Bosa made was to move out of the apartment he shared with Ezekiel Elliott, who had been his roommate since freshman year, and into his own apartment. While many of his teammates would go out and enjoy some of the spotlight that comes with being a football player at Ohio State, Bosa decided to avoid all that. Instead Bosa decided to stay home, cooking and playing video games to pass the time. That's just how Bosa likes it, since he doesn't really like being in the spotlight. While his year may have gotten off to a rocky start, Bosa has recovered and is still at the top of draft boards heading into April's NFL Draft.
"I give JaQuan credit, he's realized that if he can go in and get it, he can start the break. Evan figured that out and D'Angelo figured that out last year."

At halftime on last night's game against Rutgers, Ohio State looked like they were having a bit of a hangover following Sunday's blowout loss at Indiana, trailing the Scarlet Knights 41-39. By the time the game went final, Ohio State had not only turned things around with a 94-68 win, but freshman point guard JaQuan Lyle became just the fourth Buckeye in school history to record a triple-double. Lyle finished the game with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists, joining Dennis Hopson, Evan Turner, and D'Angelo Russell in the triple-double club.
The beginning of Lyle's career has been up-and-down, but it seems like the freshman has finally settled in, as he is averaging 14.8 points, 7.8 assists, and 6.4 rebounds in Big Ten play. What really impressed Thad Matta on Wednesday night was how Lyle rebounded the basketball, which allowed him to be more aggressive on the offensive end. Now with road games against Maryland and Purdue coming up, Matta is going to need Lyle to play like he did on Wednesday night against Rutgers. Should Lyle be able to power Ohio State to a win in one of those two games, it will help to boost the NCAA Tournament hopes of the Buckeyes.
"I think I can be a (receiving threat). I feel like I am a mismatch with most linebackers. I think I am versatile in what I can do."

Heading into the 2016 season, it feels like Ohio State has to replace starters at every position except quarterback. Tight end is no different, as this year's starter Nick Vannett was a senior. At least in trying to replace Vannett, Ohio State has somebody who has already seen some time on the playing field. Even though he only reeled in two catches for 32 yards in 2015, Marcus Baugh started to make a name for himself with his blocking ability. One of those catches came in the Fiesta Bowl though, with Baugh's 27-yard reception possibly giving Buckeye fans a glimpse of things to come.
The start to Baugh's Ohio State career didn't go exactly as planned, with off-the-field issues hampering the start of his career. After redshirting his freshman season, Baugh has been able to spend time learning behind Jeff Heuerman in 2014 and Vannett last year. Now Baugh will top the depth chart at tight end, and will be the one teaching those behind him. The California native knows that he has to step up and become a leader with all the new starters the Buckeyes will have in 2016. Baugh certainly has the physical tools to excel on the football field, now it's time for him to use them.
"Ever since I've played here, I feel like we get everybody's best game. Now that we're ranked where we are, we're still going to get their best game. We need to handle the success that we've had and go in and win at somebody else's court."

After winning eight straight games, Ohio State's women's basketball team is one of the hottest teams in the country right now. But the stretch of good play isn't quite enough for head coach Kevin McGuff and his team. Even though the Buckeyes are 4-0 in the Big Ten, McGuff isn't quite happy that his team gave the Scarlet Knights at bit of hope in Sunday's game. The Buckeyes didn't quite finish as strongly as McGuff was hoping, with Rutgers only losing by 12 points. McGuff knows that UConn is the gold standard right now in women's college basketball, and the Huskies wouldn't have allowed Rutgers to hang around like the Buckeyes did.
Now Ohio State has to be on top of their game when they travel to Northwestern tonight. While the Wildcats have struggled so far in Big Ten play this year, the Buckeyes know they'll get Northwestern's best shot, as the Wildcats will hope to pull the upset on the Buckeyes, who are now the fifth ranked team in the country. Even with the 1-3 start in Big Ten play, Northwestern is still ranked 24th in the USA Today Coaches Poll, and a win for the Buckeyes would provide even more momentum heading into Ohio State's matchup on Sunday in Columbus against Purdue.
