Josh Hamilton OF (bump in the stall errrrrr road)

That is a serious injury for Willis McGahee
According to Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News, Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton was spotted drinking alcohol on Monday night at a bar in the Dallas area.

What kind of alcohol he drank (and how much) is currently unclear. Hamilton, a recovering drug and alcohol addict, is supposed to remain completely sober as part of a pledge he's made to his family and the Rangers organization. A team spokesman said in a statement to the Dallas Morning News that the Rangers are "aware of a situation" but not ready to comment.

He had a lapse last year too though, so it's certainly not a one time thing. This would make the second incident in the recent past which has gone public, and there's no knowing how many times he's partied in a hotel lounge or a hotel suite with few people around.

The damage he's done to his body over the past decade cannot be undone, and with all the injuries he's already sustained in his brief comeback to MLB, I would honestly not be surprised if he's addicted to painkillers or some other substance. People wired like him are always addicted to something. If it's not alcohol then they become addicted to AA. I've met AA-goers that make Westboro Baptists seems like well-grounded, reasonable people.

Hamilton may be this hulking HR hitter on the outside but inside he's got the skeleton and organs of an 80 year old lady after what he's put himself through. He's already far exceeded any expectations I had for him when the Reds got him in the Rule 5 draft.

Who's to say that's still out of the question with him?

The Rangers have to be kicking them self that they didn't sign him in the off season. If he keeps up this pace, they aren't going to be able to pay him.
He's tested regularly because of his previous addiction issues...I think it's every 2 weeks.

They not want to pay him. He's down to his last strike with the drug policy. If he falls the wrong way off the wagon just once more, it's a lifetime ban from baseball. For all the great things he's doing, there are reasons to continue to approach him with caution.

Completely forgot about those hiccups he's had when I wrote that. I also didn't know drug/alcohol carried the same penalties as PEDs.

I'm just glad as fuck the Reds traded him for Edison Volquez.

Hamilton, Bruce and Votto would have been too many lefties for Dusty to build a LOOGY proof lineup with.

Josh Hamilton:
?There?s so much more involved. I don?t know,? he told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. ?I?m cool, man. I?m really good. The frustrating part is this [dealing with the media] and not being able to share everything with you guys. When the time is right, I?ll be honest with you, you?ll be right in the loop.?

?I?ve been shown a lot of things over the past week,? he said. ?There?s disobedience and there?s obedience to God. I?ve been being disobedient. It may be a small thing to you, but it?s a big thing to him. There?s consequences. It?s like a father and a kid. There are disciplines. You guys can chew on that and think about it.?
Ron Washington:
?The issues is something that I think Josh would definitely have to be the one to expose. It?s certainly not physical. It has nothing to do with injuries. Josh is the one that made the statement and got all the inquiries going, and I think Josh is the one that has to put a rest to the inquiries, not Ron Washington. I can just tell you one thing: It is not because he?s hurt.?
I bet he's been fucking dudes.
