Some of his comments, while true, came off as somewhat harsh especially for a winning coach. First he blantanly rips Herbstreit for picking the Pack before the game, and then when asked about Justin Zwick's performance, he shoots back by ripping Davis's turnover-fest.

What did you think of [quarterback Justin] Zwick's play?
He didn't throw it to them [NC State]. When you're a young quarterback... That's a big step. Their young quarterback better make that step or he may not make it.

When you have a good defense like ours, and we're playing against a young quarterback, I didn't think they'd be able to score much on us.
 
And? Sometimes I get tired of Herby myself!!! Coach Tressel was annoyed by stupid questions by the media. I was annoyed by the questions myself because they were just so damn stupid. We beat a very good team on the road and people are questioning his coaching!!! I say fuckoff to those buckeye fans maybe they would like to have cooper back!!!!

I couldn't give a damn the margin of victory I just want "W's". Herby needs to jump on the bandwagon because if he would pick us every week he would have been wrong only twice in the last 3 seasons!!!

I think Tressel is starting to get tired of the media talking shit. I think he is getting a chip on his shoulder!!!

What's the deal with players and coaches all of a sudden giving a shit what commentators think? I mean, for fans it's one thing, but whether it's the Cubs calling the booth to rip Steve Stone, or Tressel being bothered by Herbie picking NCST....why do they care?

I think it kinda pisses him off that after 2+ years of winning "ugly" and winning close games that people still dismiss his team as "lucky". The fact that Free Shoes U is ranked ahead of us in the AP is also a slap in the face. If we keep winning and fail to rise above 1 loss teams then i would see why he would be pretty pissed

we have to try those collpaisble goal-posts comment..in addition to everyone picking against OSU and not even giveing them a chance..Chuck amato has to realize that 'talk is cheap'

has enough reasons to be pissed off and give some smart-assish coments..if not for those..we would have never gotten the 'best damn team in the land' comment...that's an all-time classic

don't get me wrong, I aboslutely love that JT is getting sick of the media haters, he just came off as somewhat ornery all day, from his halftime interview to the post-game comments, and I don't think I saw him as upset on the field as he was after that terrible spot they gave the bucks in the second half on bam's third down catch.... he was in the ref's face, and rightfully so.

this was also one of the few times during the season (3:30 game on the road) where the team and coaches are still at the hotel early enough to be listening to all the pre-game talking heads dissing them. that had to add some motivation.

underdogs to an unranked team with everybody including your own alumni picking against you? that would piss me off too.

I don't think Herbie and JT get along actually.

It's just a feeling. Especially b/c he was such a Cooper brown nose.

Herbie seems to go out of his way to point out that JT is not an innovative offensive coach. I don't think that's a fair assessment at all. Tressel just doesn't use any more game plan than he has to use. I think the K-State game last year was a good example of our offense working on all cylinders.

In his yearly analysis, Herbie only put Tressel in as a lower ranking "Sargent Carter" type.

Look...Herbie can't pick Ohio State every week. I'm sure ESPN doesn't want him to pick Ohio State every week. You know that he was watching the game...rooting for the Buckeyes...and that deep in his heart he thought they would win. But when he used his head...he thought that this game was the scary one on the schedule...so did I...and probalby so did you guys. I will never forget Herbie picking the Buckeyes to win in the Fiesta Bowl...everyone thought he was nuts and that he was just picking them because it was his alma mater...and they may have been right...but I give Herbie props for sticking up for his Buckeyes there...but he can't just pick them every week because that's where he played football...and before the season started...if I had to pick one game for Ohio State to lose, it would have been this one. I'm not surpised they won. I don't think Herbie is either. It's hard for a young team to have it's first real test on the road and come away with a W. Congrats to the Buckeyes. Now lets focus on winning the Big 10!

Guess what...I am liking the newly irate Tressel at newsconferences...I don't mind Herbie not picking the Bucks every week, but this was wrong-way better D, plus he should know Tress' record for showing up big in big games....besides, I want to see Herbie's comment on air about whether he really tagged Cindy Cooper in the stadium when he was on the team....sources say it is true......
