A MAN OF BETRAYED JUSTICE

There is plenty of room for criticism for the current squad and their shortcomings.

There is no room for idiotic, spoiled, myopic questioning of his remarkable value to this University and his tremendous accomplishments and success.

Thanks for chiming in, Minister of Propaganda.
Anytime, Prince of Pessimism.

This rabbit trail from Buckyle (and my followup) was largely rooted in this stupidity last night.
I'm sure most of you won't agree, but it's time for Matta to go. That or find some better assistants who can produce with the raw talent we get. Matta is a fantastic recruiter, but honestly at best is a decent coach. His record is impressive and almost all of that is due to raw talent like the Oden's, Sullingers, Thomas's etc. This team really bothered me this year. Craft didn't get any better offensively, neither did Scott, nor Amir, nor Lenzelle. Thompson and Q were the only two who looked to progress from last year. Our offense looked putrid today in my mind. Watching Cuse playing, their offense just has so much more flow, movenment, post ups, the whole thing. We are missing that. We didn't have a knock down shooter this year and often times we played to the level of our opponent, which is why I strongly consider taking UD over us in my bracket.

Great recruiter but the man doesn't have a great track record of producing great players from that raw talent like Ohio State should. I appreciate how he put Ohio State bball back on the map, but that was with recruiting not producing great players all that much.

So the fact that your post came 20 minutes after mine was just pure coincidence. Okay....
Yes, it's all about you LJB.

Also, I'm always very restrained when it comes to arguments and calling people out directly. I also hate quoting people and never respond to a long post with a painfully long, often segmented reply of my own. I stick with vague, general comments and leave it up to people's imagination what I'm saying.

Which is why the timing of your post says so much.

If you didn't like the facts that I presented, then you could have made a counter argument. Instead, you accused me of being "idiotic, spoiled, myopic". Very restrained on your part.

Of course it does. There's no chance that I was following posts sporadically on a phone while cooking breakfast and the post that was visible was NJB's when I pulled up the thread.

After years of having long winded arguments with you directly, I found myself alone, frightened and without a counterpoint, so I avoided addressing any of your facts. Until I quoted part of your post later without ANY of the vitriol found in the other post.

I certainly would never address the Mili-esque removal of Jon Diebler's three point shooting, and wasn't doing so in a follow-up breaking down the seasonal averages when I could research and type from a computer instead of a phone. I definitely wasn't going to echo your concerns about their free throw percentage and its toll on Matta teams. Since I'm out to get you and have no prayer of a valid rebuttal, I'll keep fearing to quote you directly and just shut up.

That is a good summary of your posting style.
So LJB, if my posting style and goal in that post was vitriolic, cowardly bile towards you, why is there NONE of that to be found in the post that actually quotes you?

Since you're the expert on what I'm typing and who I'm addressing, perhaps you could help educate me.

I was still stewing from Holy's post and similar drivel elsewhere and unloaded some emotional verbage. I didn't even see your post until after I replied, at which point I quoted part of the post and talked big picture with zero vitriol.

I think Thad has his weaknesses. I've always felt his teams are far too weak from the line. They could be better from outside but I think they've usually had enough perimeter scoring to win and other weaknesses have been more pressing. I think he is a victim of his own recruiting in that he gets so many monsters on campus that bolt for the league without the tradition or sway to keep them around like Izzo or Coach K pull off regularly.

I think his coaching/development of this team is worthy of major criticism and have said that repeatedly this season. I also believe it is in stark contrast to most of his coaching efforts in Columbus.

I also think that defensive prowess is a vastly underrated attribute and something you can rely upon with more confidence than shooting.

I think all of those things and still think OSU is incredibly fortunate to have him leading their program. He inherited a program in a tailspin and has had them as a top-7ish program for the majority of his tenure.
