K Tyler Durbin (Official Thread)

Kids psyche was messed up after the scUM game. Not the easiest kicks in the world for sure.

I'd rather say thank you for standing in this year Tyler. Tough way to end up but you were money most of the year. Good luck in the future.
In warm ups for the scum game, he missed two kicks before he made his last. Every other game in warm ups he knocked it through, we go to the endzone, punt one and head to the locker room.

Against, scum, miss, miss, players and Urban start for the endzone each time it was in the air, only to come back and hit another one. Those misses, whether it happened previously in practice that week, or those two kicks did it, shattered the dudes confidence IMHO.

Missing two 47 yarders. I lay ZERO blame on the kicker, okay maybe 10%. 47 yarders are not chip shots. I blame the misses on the piss poor offensive scheme that couldn't make those 30 yarders at worst, and most likely an extra point.
Spot on. Not to mention he had only two attempts the whole night. The offense could only get the ball in field goal range ONCE the whole night? The first attempt was the result of the interception after which we gained 3 yards. The second was the result of a Paris Campbell kickoff return to Clemson's 42 after which we could only gain 12 yards.

5 former Ohio State players who could go overlooked in the NFL draft

The NFL Scouting Combine kicks off on Tuesday, and once again the Ohio State football program will possess a heavy presence in Indianapolis.

After having 12 players drafted — including five first-rounders — a year ago, the Buckeyes will send eight former players to next week’s annual draft showcase. Among the former OSU players invited to this year’s combine are projected first-round picks Malik Hooker and Marshon Lattimore, as well as center Pat Elflein, linebacker Raekwon McMillan, H-back Curtis Samuel, cornerback Gareon Conley and punter Cam Johnston.

But just because a prospect didn’t get invited to the combine doesn’t mean his NFL hopes are over. With that in mind, let’s look at five ex-Buckeyes who could go overlooked this draft season.

Tyler Durbin
For many Buckeyes fans, their lasting memory of kicker Tyler Durbin is likely his end-of-the-season slump, in which he missed four of the final five kicks of his college career.

But before his 1-for-3 showing vs. Michigan and 0-for-2 outing in the Fiesta Bowl, Durbin was one of the more consistent kickers in college football. Prior to Ohio State’s win over the Wolverines, he had made each of his first 16 field-goal attempts.

With 2016 marking the first year he played organized football, Durbin still possesses plenty of room to improve. With a strong draft season showing, he could catch on with a team as an undrafted free agent this spring.

From there, it will be up to Durbin to reignite what was a once-promising football career.

COLUMBUS DESTROYERS ASSIGN FORMER OHIO STATE KICKER TYLER DURBIN ON AN EMERGENCY BASIS

It looks like it will be a very brief stint, but former Ohio State kicker Tyler Durbin will kick for the Columbus Destroyers this weekend in Nationwide Arena after the team signed him on an emergency basis.

The Columbus AFL team assigned the former Buckeye kicker on an emergency basis in place of regular kicker Craig Peterson, who the teams says will be unavailable this weekend.
