Kathleen Salyers Interview: CNNSI.com

Salyers, in the PD today, basically admits that OSU was not behind her payments and gifts to Boban. Earlier, she made it sound as if OB was telling her to give him money and stuff. Now not knowing what you should know can still get you in trouble with the NCAA, but OB did not order payments to Boban.

Why didn't somebody notice Boban walking around with a new coat, the things he had, when he was driving his car?" Salyers said.

"It's almost as if it was OK as long as no one brought it to anyone's attention.

"You can't tell me that the university and the officials . . . that they weren't aware of so many things."

So of course she still implies willful ignorance, but that is different then [blaring headline] COACH OKAYS PAYMENTS TO PLAYER[/blaring headline]

Something is not right with this situation.

The husband is on disability and admittedly not making much (or any?) money. The wife is cleaning houses, making $1500 a month. Yet they afford to dole out over $100k to support Boban? How?

Another thing... they were so hard-up for money after supporting Boban, that they somehow afford to build a $155k house in 1994? A check of the Franklin Cty. auditor shows they sold it in 2002 for $217k.

So how does a family so poor for money get a mortgage for a $150k house after giving Boban so much?

Something doesn't add up.
