I just saw this story and must say I was quite shocked. He was 41 years old for heaven's sake. Way too young. If you live like a rock star, though, you gotta pay the piper eventually.

This truly is a sad loss. He really seemed like one of the good guys when he played.

RIP Ken. Its sad to see you go.

not surprising. he was trash.
disagree... I know a top SI writer and he said everyone loved Caminiti... everyone knew his flaws... he never was good at hiding them... and I have compassion for addicts... probably because I have no idea how I would deal with an addiction...

I look at Schlichter... damn.. world by the ass... but an addiction was bigger than he was... and same for Caminiti... it's one of those philosophical questions that you might say how you'd deal with a particular situation... but until you are IN that situation, you really don't know how you'd respond...

when you have kids and you know your addiction could cut your time with them short.. and you still can't stop... damn... can't even imagine
