Kevin Sumlin (OC Maryland Terrapins)

FYI with the 0.001% of Aggy fanbase that is slightly rational they are beginning to realize Sumlin isn't going to stay... meltdown will be EPIC

With 2 years of success, they think they are all of a sudden a traditional national power. Beat Bama once and all of a sudden they think they are Alabama. aTm has jumped on the SEC bandwagon of success faster than any other school, and did so in only the first year in the conference. This really is a new low.

USC is arguably one of the top 5 coaching gigs in the USA. Lot of cash, plenty of exposure, and oodles of expectations. One of the best football rosters in the game, and coming off a pretty harsh scholarship loss, he can add some more great players. aTm is was a mid-tier (OK maybe upper third) in B12, but has had some good success in SEC (who woulda thunk it?). Momentary, probably. Certainly not a proven performer. Johnny M is a talent, albeit pretty much a wild card that doesn't take direction very well. Yeah, I'd leave if I was Sumlin. If aTm's qb is sincere about going to NFL, I'd probably stay if I was Kyle Allen, because there's enough talent in the pipeline for 2-3 years, and trust me, the Aggie boosters are wealthy enough to demand and get a high profile coach to carry on.

Stay tuned, this is exciting, but once Sumlin made public his application to USC, it's only a matter of time before he leaves. Maybe not to USC, but the next time......Tejas mayhaps?

I just don't put USC up there. They were pretty much irrelevant throughout the 80s and 90s on the national scene, and I think that had to do with more than just bad coaching hires. They've been on and off probation more than any top 10 program that I can think of except perhaps Oklahoma. Carroll had to cheat his ass of--with a compliant, idiot AD in place--to do what he did, and I don't think that's possible under their current President and Haden as AD. A metro area of 12 million people who drop you like a bad habit if you don't win 10 games a year combined with a criminally delusional alumni base. A shit stadium...historic, but still shit.

A better job than aggy? Definitely. I, however, could rattle off at least ten to fifteen jobs where it's easier to win on a consistent long term basis than USC.

Dumb fucking move. Inflated national rankings notwithstanding, he's been unable to accomplish shit in his own division and is on the verge of watching Mizzou make CCG before aggy, and that's with the money badger. What the hell does he think is going to happen moving forward? And if it all falls apart next year, those crazy, skinhead, fake army aggy will turn really ugly really quickly. Only thing that I can think is that aggy just dropped an obscene amount of guaranteed money into his lap.

Or it could of been that.
