Why do you need to go on Amazon?
Although not as remote as it once was I still live in a remote location. The southern Sangre de Cristo mountains. Amazon does a tremendous business here. What I have learned is as you age you must keep up some excercise routine to keep everything strong and flexable. Get outdoors when possible and when you can't excercise outside get to a gym. Vitamins will help because when we age our bodies can't absorb enough from just food. I take vitamins to help me fight altitude sickness(I live and play at 7000-8000ft.) YMMV

Recently diagnosed with arthritis in one knee and scheduled to see a rheumatologist after my vacation. My PCP thinks there may be a meniscus issue as well and there is obviously some fluid build up.

At least I know why the damn thing hurts, but I'm too stubborn to let it slow me down so far. This trip will be a bit of a test but I've got a sleeve and ibuprofen at the ready. Fuck old age.

I ran 35,000 kms over 20 years and screwed it all up by not taking a break and getting a menisectomy when I should have. Let a doctor with a good sports science resume look it over, Jake.

This is Steve19. He ran up and down mountains in his late 50s. He is a dumbass. Don't be like Steve19.

Had some issues with one of mine too. Could have had it shaved a bit and probably would have been fine... but I’m reserving any knifing on my joints until really needed.

Upside, things recovered by going light on the knee for a couple of months. Like six.

Downside, I got fat... and need to work it off again.

Good luck man. Getting old is a drag.

Lose some weight if you can to take extra stress off that knee. That's what I've been told by people who have had knee repair. And by their orthopedest. I live in a very good ski town so the orthos here are very busy during ski season.
