Kobe Bryant (NBA HOF, R.I.P.)

I'm in disbelief. Such a huge part of my childhood and love for basketball. RIP Kobe
He was the bridge between my youngest memories of Jordan/Reggie/Ewing then into the LeBron era.

He was the NBA for a whole generation. Woven into so much of the game.

Now more reports that his daughter Gigi was on board.

fucking tragic.

Damn, just awful.
He has to be the most famous sports celebrity to tragically die so young, by far.
Rocky Marciano maybe next?
Walter Payton was 45, probably same level, although fame in the digital global age is a different animal. Pete Maravich, Thurman Munson, also come to mind. All of these instance are tragic for so many reasons.
