James Quick (WR Louisville)

5 spots left. Maybe 4. The following is my hunch.

WR
Munger
Mitchell
Bell
Green

I think 6 spots left, and there has to be an OT in there. I also think Lewis is in before the season. IMO, a second WR is also more important than either Green or Munger at this point in time.

And James Quick would be an excellent addition at one of those spots, but I think he will be a tough pull from Louisville.

Agree.....

Definetly have to make room for 2 more...

An additional WR in this class is more important than adding Tyquan Lewis or Donovan Munger IMO....

Couldn't agree more...it wouldn't bother me a bit if we take Quick and Allen over Lewis. Except Munger is needed on OL IMHO. I can't see missing another OL...Bollman days are over. If we have an Ohio lineman (or Defensive lineman) like him...OSU needs to take him. They'll take these 6 because there will be attrition folks: Munger, Allen or Gibson (whoever pulls the trigger first), Quick, Green, Mitchell and Bell. Now that would be a nice cherry on top for this class is it not:oh:

Gee also met with several recruits at the spring game the next week, including James Quick, a highly regarded receiver from Louisville. Quick continues to consider OSU.

"I know how hectic your schedule was for all of the Spring Game activities," Meyer wrote to Gee on April 23. "But you taking time to personally meet with our key recruits will go a long way in establishing and building relationships with the recruits and their parents."

"You, your coaches, and team are on fire," Gee replied. "Thanks for letting me be part of the effort."

OSU on James Quick's official visit list
August, 2, 2012
By Dave Hooker | ESPN.com

James Quick's list off official visits this fall is coming into focus.

Quick (Louisville, Ky./Trinity), the nation's No. 57 overall prospect and ninth-best receiver said he will definitely take official visits to Louisville, Ohio State and Oregon, the three schools he's primarily considering. He said he'll likely take official visits to Cincinnati and Kentucky as well.

Certainly, the Cardinals have Quick's heart on their side. Quick's father, Ronyae' Quick, played football for Louisville in the early 1990s.

With Louisville's verbally committed recruits, prospective recruits and coaches dropping like flies I'm really liking our chances with Quick.

So that I don't have to do the research myself can you explain the "Who and Why" behind this statement? I am not in the habit of following Louisville. Thanks. Or a link or two.

He may know some things that I don?t but I live in Louisville and there is a lot of buzz that Charlie Strong is going to be the next coach at Arkansas. He is from Arkansas and from what I understand, they reached out to him when Petrino was fired but he wanted to finish this year with Louisville. These could just be rumors, though.

He hasn't even taken official visits yet. Oregon should not be discounted. I like our chances if Strong leaves but I also liked our chances of landing Stanford and he is now a Duck. I saw a quote from him about Oregon stating that he was very interested how freshmen get playing time. I am hopeful that UFM will be in his ear that the same will be true with us. I think the days of young guys sitting out at major schools is over anyway so I hope he doesn't think Oregon is the only place where that will happen. Just ask Sammy Watkins.

Per a friend of Quick's father, Oregon is too far. He wants his son close. That is why he added Cinci recently.

If Urban wanted Stanford, he would have been a Buckeye.

I like our chances but who knows. Think Louisville becoming a mid major is a bigger deal than Strong, at least that seemed to be with the 2 other Trinity kids.
